matt delucia is live talking to police. what a nightmare this was for the family. >> reporter: absolutely, vai. we're talking to police, the good news is the mother and her kids are okay. they were not injured in this. this is the home where it happened. the 33-year-old mother was in her upstairs bedroom, she heard the break-in, went down and saw the three men. they ransacked the house. tied up the family bog dog and one of the robbers had a gun and threatened to shoot her while her kids were sleeping upstairs. >> i don't know why this house was targeted. the woman did have $800 cash in her possession that was taken. they poured out the contents of her purse but it appears they only took the cash. >> reporter: then they ran away. detectives will go over the evidence left at the scene. they have been talking with that mother to get whatever information they can. of course this is a quiet neighborhood, some of the neighbors i've been talking with tell me that this was quite something to wake up to seeing all of the activity.

this morning nbc 10's matt delucia is on the ground to show us what he's seeing. how are the crews doing, matt? >> reporter: well, the crews are fairly busy, rosemary. they have been for several hours since the pope left town, the crews started cleaning up the trash. right here on the ben franklin parkway in the middle of the road. you can tell it's closed, just work crews. you see the barricades up there. we're by 21st street. let's move around here and give you a better glimpse of what's going on. here along 21st street you see some of the trucks there picking up the generators, a lot were out here being used for this papal visit. here you see some of the port-a-potties still out here as well. a lot of the cleanup has been under way, taking down the fences, taking down those cattle chutes, we see some of the golf carts driving by this area. take a look at video we shot earlier where you can see some of the water bottles left over. thousands of water bottles are still left over after the 2.5 million left here by wawa for the crowds. not all were used. still a lot
