. >> san francisco's district 6 board supervisor matt dorsey stopped by to pay a visit and join in on the fun, too. in san francisco, ella sogomonian kron. 4 news 5 for the first time. california is backing guaranteed income programs across the state in efforts to combat extreme poverty. the california department of social services plans to hand out. 25 million dollars in cash payments to residents who are facing challenging conditions specifically people who are pregnant or aging out of extended foster care individuals in the program will receive unconditional and regular payments of 600 to $1200 a month for 12 to 18 months. all pilot programs will be evaluated. officials will assess whether providing this financial assistance to the residents during these life. transitions such as childbirth are moving into independence can actually prevent people from falling further behind and below the poverty line. >> over the weekend, millions of americans received good and bad news about the student loan debts. yeah. the good news being that they were approved to have thousands of dollars forg
