let's get the latest with matt finn in eagle pass, texas. matt?noticed a slow woke here at the border. i spoke with texas dps. they say we're in the slower winter months. they insist they're seeing consistent numbers of human smuggling, children, that are crossing over. we have noticed children all week long. the biden administration is touting the lower numbers from particular countries, but i'm told you have to put an asterisk neck to those numbers. under the president's new parole program, 30,000 per month are being given legal status. they're not listed under the migrant encounters. the known got-aways are not being tallied under the encountered numbers. u.s. customs and boarder protection tells fox news that since a few months ago, there's been 278,000 known got-aways that have crossed in to the united states. not only is that a number in itself, it's important because border patrol and texas dps will tell you that got-aways are migrants that evade law enforcement. they're not the people you see on camera lining up to surrender. they're the t

matt finn is live in eagle pass, texas with the details. tt. >> that fiery crashed happened in kinney county not far from here in eagle pass. deputies say they spotted the red car speeding. they tried to pull over that car with some road spikes and realized there were two human smuggling cars working together referred to as load cars. the red car ends up crashing on the side of the road catching fire. deputies spring to action to rescue the people inside and they arrested two u.s. citizens or human smuggling and detained three illegal migrants. also not far from the fiery crash in kinney county deputies noticed a horse trailer in an area usually doesn't see horse trailers on the road. they pull over the driver and discover ten illegal migrants in the horse trailer from various countries, including mexico and honduras. it wasn't the first horse trailer pulled over with illegal migrants and probably not the last. even though migrant numbers are down in lower months as in january and february he says he is not seeing a dip. >> last year was an

matt finn is live at our southern border looking at the situation on the ground in eagle pass, texas.ly, the biden administration says there's been a 97% plummet in the weekly average of migrant encounters here at the southern border, but they're only including four countries, cuba, venezuela, nicaragua and haiti, that's four countries out of the 140 plus that we know cross here in the southern border and the backdrop to any dip in a weekly average is that the u.s. government reports last month there were 251,000 migrant encounters here at the southern border, that's the highest number ever in a single month. and it does not include the tens of thousands of got-aways. and here at the southern border, we did see a slower week this past week, we're told that historically january and february are slower months so it will be interesting to see how the coming months and the springtime months compare to december, last month, that was a record high. and i talked to dps on the ground and they're on the front lines, you watch our coverage and the high speed chases and pursuing the illegal migr
