matt gutman has been with us all week. you'll remember, we showed you this video of matt demonstrating what to do if you encounter a dangerous shark. well, it really happened to these kayakers who were followed by a shark for miles off the coast much florida. and our matt gutman, of course, has the story. >> reporter: if the fin slicing through the waves just feet from this kayaker wasn't jawsy enough, take a look at what the camera reveals when dunked into the water. the unmistakable shape of a hammerhead shark, tailing them for two hours. >> he hit my rudr and jogged the whole kayak. justollowing us steadily and creepily. a little bit of "jaws" action. >> they were off of palm beach. the shark, estimated as big as their kayak, 13 feet. >> it was a big shark. just a little -- >> hairy, i would think. >> reporter: hammerheads are not considered as grandfather as great whites with fewer than 30 attacks in recorded history. but they can be territorial as this duo learned. instead of staying out of the water, they jumped in.

matt gutman reports. >> reporter: in hollywood action flicks, you rarely survive falls like this.ehow a window washer in san francisco friday morning did. plummeting 11 stories right past pedestrians, smashing into the roof of mohammad al co zion's car. >> the thud of the body on to the car. >> just a huge boom. >> reporter: police say the window washer bounced off the car and on to the pavement. after he rushed to help the man, he looked back at his car. >> when i turned around, i saw my car. it was pressed. >> reporter: police say it's miraculous that pedestrians were spared. >> everyone that was on the ground level is very lucky. >> reporter: as was the window washer. that camry apparently partially breaking his fall. >> it appears that's what helped him out. >> reporter: look up in any city in america, and these professional daredevils are on the buildings. i was with a crew in miami 400 feet up. but before they let me into their office, the crew gave me a safety briefing, providing a number of fail saves. >> this is your working line, this is your emergency line. >> reporter:

we're "up all nightline" with abc's matt gutman. >> reporter: for most people coming face to snout witht from it, would mean certain death. does it hurt to have your head inside a bear's mouth? >> not really. we have confidence in one another. >> reporter: for doug seuss, this is life with bart. >> you're so good. >> reporter: it's not every day you get to be about 2 1/2 feet away from a 1300-pound grizzly bear. this one is a little bit special, though. because bart the bear was delivered to doug's doorstep when he was a cub. a poacher had killed his mother in alaska. doug has been training bears for about 40 years. including the giant bart i. no relation to bart ii who starred in "the bear," "legends of the fall" and "the edge." this year at least six people were killed by bear attacks in north america. many others hurt as humans continue to encroach on their habitats. to survive such an attack, doug says the best practice, well, is to avoid it. >> you don't want to surprise them. you want to let them know that you are in the area so that they have time to make calculations. >> reporte

here's abc's matt gutman. >> reporter: the crash was so violent, it flipped this bus over.d luggage across the road. look at this. the weight of the tour bus crushing the passenger cabin. one man killed in the rollover in northern california. 31 of the 33 passengers aboard were injured. but perhaps most shocking it was the bus' second crash of the day. police say that earlier, the same bus had scraped the exterior of a denny's in red bluff, california. >> we got reports that said the driver looked to be sleepy or fatigued. no other indications that any other vehicle was involved at this time. >> reporter: authorities suspect fatigue may have played a role. a consistent killer on the roads. prosecutors blame a fatigued truck driver for a massive pile-up which nearly killed tracy morgan. this summer we joined the ohio state patrol in the air and on the black top. >> we're flying right now truth -- trying to catch up. you see how fast we're driving to keep up with the trucks. >> reporter: this trucker told us he was pressured to keep working, even as he micro slept at the whee
