worked very, very hard on this, including my chief of staff, carolyn gos seconosen any aid, and matt hainey's of staff. i'm introducing a resolution urging governor newsome to affirm the validity of homeland security recent extension of temporary protective status, related documentation, including employment authorization documents that thousands of immigrants across california depend on. tps is a form of temporary immigration status provided to immigrant families and individuals living in the u.s. who come from countries with conditions that are far too dangerous for them to return. last week on november 4th, the department of homeland security issued a formerral notice that automatically extends the duration of employment authorization documents for tps beneficiaries from el salvador, nicaragua, sudan until january 24 of 2021. they have made attempts to discourage this and this was made possible because of a preliminary ininjectio injunctie northern court of california. when an extension is issued by dhs, the department does not provide the beneficiaries with any new documentation, proving
