matt, back to you. >> janet, thank you very much. >>> from tornados to a big wildfire burning out of control this morning north of los angeles. nbc's diana is live in santa clar rita. >> the hills are smoky, hazy and burned. the charred aftermath of another wildfire. this fire, the power house fire began yesterday afternoon and has so far consumed 1,000 acres and at least one structure. the flames came dangerously close to water pipes and electrical lines. at one point was so bad that mandatory evacuation orders were issued. those orders have been lifted but the teams are hard at work trying to cut fire breaks in the canyons around us. how much of the fire has been contained? we don't know yet. authorities are still assessing the damage. in the southwest the problem is triple-digit temperatures, las vegas, phoenix and palm springs pushing 100 degrees this weekend. phoenix will see 108. this is at a time with a ten-year drought. things are looking pretty bad this summer. matt? >> thank you. >>> al's been tracking this. what can you tell us? >>> things are not getting better and won't for the next 72 hours. you can see the storms firing up indianapolis to memphis back from spring

matt. here we go again p, for the second time in two weeks. an american servicemen, who is supposed to be protecting women against sexual assault is accused, at least, of sexual assault. lawmakers on capitol hill are already calling these latest allegations disgusting and sickening. the name of this army sergeant hasn't been released because he hasn't been formally charged yet. if these accusations are true, this case appears to be especially heinous. this latest military sex scandal comes out of ft. hood, texas. sources tell nbc news army investigators are looking into allegations that an army sergeant sexually assaulted a female soldier under his command, then forced her into prostitution and allegedly sexually assaulted two others. it's the second such case this month. just last week air force lieutenant colonel jeff krusinski, the officer in charge of sexual assault prevention for the air force was arrested and charged with sexual battery against a woman in a virginia parking lot. the police report described him as a drunken male subject who approached a woman, grabbed her breast and buttocks before she fought him off. defense secretary chuck hagel was furious. >> we're all outraged and di
