matt kell earl live at the warm springs station in fremont with what happens now, matt. >> reporter: reggie, it's been a bumpy road for bart trying to get these new trains rolling, but there's still hope that the cars can make it by the holidays. bart's fleet of the future promises to be quieter, cooler, comfortable, and easy to use. but the future is not now after failing a test run with the california public utility's commission on november 3rd, bart says only three of the ten cars were recognized by the control car, blocking the doors to the trailing seven cars. the cpuc says the operator was unable to open the doors at the platform stops. >> it sucks, but it's fine and everything too. i just wish that better cars come too because sometimes the old cars are dirtier. not that sanitary as well, so i just want something to, you know, come cleaner as well. that's what i want. >> reporter: bart's plan is to have 20 new trains in service by the end of this year. diagnose the issue and give the detailed written explanation on the cause of the failure and how it's being corrected and then
