matt keller explains the case. matt? >> a complicated and violent case. this is the 4th officer involved shooting in nine days. officers want to make sure they do not have another violent encounter with another murder suspect. >> a murder suspect's life came to an enin south san jose. a police officer shot and killed him just before 7:00 last night as neighbors were settling in for the evening. >> this is the times we live in. it happens everywhere. in a way we were not surprised with everything that is going on around the area. >> police were tailing one of three suspects wanted for the august 13 murder at an office building on lundy avenue. a female was in the suspect's vehicle. officers were tipped off he was going to kill her because she had information on the homicide. the suspect realized he was being followed and tried to evade officers, crashing the car. >> i heard sirens. then the car skidding can five or six gunshots. >> the suspect reached into the waist. no gun was found the he died a the sketch. the suspect and two others are wanted for killi

matt keller has our story. >> reporter: a walk on the dangerous side in daly city, a 27-year-old man, a 54-year-old woman and two dogs walking after midnight on the treacherous trails just south of thornton state beach when they tumbled down. the man rolled to the bottom. he was banged up but walked out and called for help. he was taken to the hospital. firefighters cabled to the woman trapped about 75 to 100 feet up. her two pit bulls were still around her but acted too aggressive for the rescuers liking so the call went out to the coast guard. the airman did an initial fly over to assess the situation. the windy conditions pushed the rescue attempt back by about an hour and a half. at about 6:45 they swooped in. sky 7 hd captured the action live on the morning news. the rescue swimmer was lowered to the woman. he put her in a swing connected to the harness. they both held on tight. she was checked out by medical services and taken home by daly city police. the woman, however, was concerned about her dogs. one appeared to be injured after the fall. the other was trapped on the cliff.

abc 7 news reporters, matt keller, is live at union city police headquarters. matt? >> this is obviously a disturbing crime trend making people nervous heading out to the park. series of attacks have taken place in fremont and union city. the latest happened last friday. a daylight robbery at con tempo park in union city. a popular place for families. >> onlookers tried to stop a person trying to rip a gold neck as off a woman's neck at the playground. >> he said, leave her alone. he pointed guns towards her. they say, call 911. >> they say the robber ran through the bushes with the getaway car. it was described as gray or silver. the juvenile was eventually arrested. it is just one of half a dozen robberies that have taken place in the area recently, all involving necklace snatching. on wednesday, a man pulled a handgun on three people in an apartment complex on leslie street in fremont and made off with gold necklaces. police are warning residents to be aware of their surroundings and some are saying they are not going to wear their jewelry out in public. reporting

matt keller is at the scene with the very latest. matt?l came in at 1:00 o'clock this morning, a man, a woman, and two dogs, two pit pit bulls when over. the man tumbled down to the beach and she is stuck on a cliff with the dogs in daly city. she 50 to 100' away from the bottom of the cliff. she had her two dogs with her and they are chasing airport rescuers. this video was shot of a coast guard helicopter surveying the cliff as they are trying to figure out whether they can reach this woman and what their game plan is to get her down. we have heard the man is in the hospital but he is done okay. he is just banged up. he was conscious and able to trillion firefighters information to help the woman out. now the woman is stuck on the cliff and we are told she is not injured and the coast guard coming up with a plan to bring her back down and see if they can get her from the air. not it will be the cables and the firefighters and a basket from the side of the cliff that will go down to get her but of course those dogs are the ones that are c

i'm matt keller. evacuations have been ordered along jerusalem grade road east of the soda creek bridge. the fire began just before 4:00 today and it has burned more than 3,000 acres. we have team coverage on the fire tonight. first abc 7 news reporter sergio quintana is live in lake county tonight. >> reporter: just a few minutes ago i talked with a resident who was evacuated this afternoon. she tells me that sheriff's deputies went door to door through this rural area to try to tell as many residents as possible. and that right there is where the california highway patrol has closed off jerusalem grade road heading into what's now called the jerusalem fire. this afternoon, fueled by dry vegetation and shifting winds, this fire went there zero to 3,000 acres. it's triggered evacuations of homes along this rural road that is just a couple miles from the burn area of the rocky fire which tore through this county last week. it's not clear exactly how many people have been evacuated but a cal fire spokes

matt keller joins joins us from daly city. >> the park department is fencing the if ensure that firefighters cut through so they could get to the victim down below on the cliff. the cliff is about 300' from the beach. everyone made it out alive, the people and the pets. >> a walk on the dangerous side in daly city, a 27-year-old man, a 54-year-old woman and two dogs were walking after midnight on the treacherous trails south of the beach when they all tumbled down. the man rolled all the way to the bottom and was bang up but walked out called for help. he was taken to the hospital. firefighters got to the woman trapped 100' up. her two pit bulls were there but acted too aggressive so the call went to the coast guard. thank you was an initial flyover after 5:00 a.m. to assess the situation. the wind pushed the rescue attempt back by an hour and a half and at 6:45 they swooped in. sky 7 captured the action on the morning news. the rescue swimmer was lowered to the woman. he put neither a sling connected to 9 harness. they held on as they were lifted up and went back to the coast guard station.
