google "matt lewis, arizona law." i felt it would allow -- republicans are supposed be fearful of big government but it is ok to pull somebody over and ask for their papers. it is much more likely to have that question asked if you are hispanic. that is why i opposed it. my brand of what i'm advocating would encompass tonal changes and some policy changes. these things will be debated over time, what the changes would be. i did oppose the arizona law. a lot of the problem is rhetoric and image and optics and republicans are guilty of allowing that to metastasize. i think they're going to be some policies that republicans got wrong over the years and will need to be addressed. part of rebranding is recommiting yourself to first principles. the republican party should be the party of life. akin got into trouble. it is kind of ironic. it was fighting over the right to life seeing partial birth abortion. they won the intellectual argument. some had to do with technology. a son. had the s become a victim of your success. h
