. >> reporter matt mendez is live in santa rosa with that story tonight. >> reporter: good evening. we are in downtown santa rosa off mendocino and fifth. there are only a few restaurants and businesses open. if you've been down here, you know that, many people impacted by the wildfire. so we did find this business that was very crowded earlier. there's still some people enjoying a nice meal here. i want to bring in the owner here. thank you so much for letting us talk to you. talk a little bit about why you stayed open. >> yesterday everything was pretty devastating for a lot of people and there was a lot of people misplaced out of their homes and i've been through this before. i've owned a tavern over 35 years and you can't call yourself a true neighborhood tavern unless you're open during times , just for people to get together and get information and find out -- they don't have tvs to watch and yesterday the coverage was really big and all the food places like you said were closed. so we set up a limited menu and we ended up feeding, you know, half the town. it was real special.

see a lot more firetrucks, fire engines and first responders stuck together in a little while.>>> matt mendez, my first tonight at the sonoma county fairgrounds. that's where the command post is in the process of being set up. thank you matt we appreciate it.>>> there are so many jurisdictions involved, sonoma county, napa county and so many other counties as we mentioned earlier. the governor has issued states of emergencies for a number of counties throughout california because the fires have moved so quickly. they're trying to get all of the resources needed to take care the many people who are affected in our state. earlier today, you about, napa and sonoma counties work identified four states of emergency. now the governor has added lake county, mendocino, nevada, butte and orange county of southern california because of a fire burning your anaheim. as we heard from officials in california, they acknowledge that the resources are stretched quite thin. they're trying to be very judicious about how they use the resources. the trying to get the fire line solidified before the nightfall. san
