our public diplomacy team, anthony and karen, matt miller and also tony bell who did a fabulous job in getting us organize this morning. welcome everybody. i want to just say one word of introduction to how this happened. in the last three years in doing this job, i have had lots of conversations with people in our bureau at drl and i reflect back and i start reminiscing to my first visit to the state department, and they talk about mark schneider and the things tex harris did in argentina and i would get these slightly dazed looks. it occurred to me that everybody was not actively involved in human rights advocacy in 1982. we drove out and so i did some research. i did the forensic investigation, yielded the fact that 65% of our bureau was not born in 1977. david lee miller is outside othe courthouse bellefonte, pennsylvania, what more do we know about jerry sandusky's son? >> yesterday morning matt sandusky entered the courthouse behind me at just about the very same time that his father was expected to take the stand. the timing here, shepard, is not a coincidence. prosecutors had had already rested their case but sources tell us that it was very possible matt could have been a rebuttal witness to refute his father's testimony if, in fact, jerry sandusky did take the stand. attorneys for matt sandusky just a short time ago released a statement it said, in part, and i quote: during the trial matt sandusky contacted us and requested our advice and assistance with prosecutors to disclose for the first time in this case that he's a victim of jerry sandusky's abuse. sources close to the defense told me just a few minutes ago that they are very glad that the jury is in what they call deep sequestration. in other words, they have no exposure to any news of any type. authorities are also saying that any allegations are going to be investigated. shepard? >> wow. david lee, what did we h

matt sandusky, that, in my view is a solid ground. >> and a criminal defense attorney on the line, in the afternoon, david lee miller has been there from the beginning. when is sentence something. >> we expect about 90 days time there will be pretent yens reports then, he will be back at this court house again. we talk about the defense attorney this is the same defense attorney told me that his client jerry sandusky did a wonderful job on nbc when giving that interview that probably helped the prosecution in their case. additionally this is the same defense attorney who, outside of the court house joked about this being a soap opera and likened it to "all my children". it was certainly to say the least unorthodox it certainly was. david lee miller thank you for your tireless work and terrific reporting of all of this. and as attorney general was noting a moment ago in her understandable reviews to answer questions, this is just the beginning. there are a number of cases which are pending in the common wealth of pennsylvania against officials from pennsylvania state university and you heard the reporter ask the question did penn state

miller? >>reporter: when jerry sandusky arrived this morning he ignored a question from reporters that question, simply, did you molest your son an attorney representing matt was here early today, and she also is not speaking out, but make no mistake, that stunning allegation has further rocked this entire community. meanwhile, as the jury continues to deliberate, there is now a better idea of what they are discussing, earlier they asked for a read back of some of the key testimony and for more than one hour this morning, they listened to testimony of witness who you may recall is the assistant cope who says he saw jerry sandusky commit a sex act with a young boy and the jury also heard, again, testimony from a friend who said he had told a different version of the story, never mentioning actually seeing that sex act. and, sitting in the courtroom as this testimony was read back, dotty sandusky hearing it now for the first time. she was a witness for the defense and was not allowed to attend much of the trial during some of the more graphic moments of that testimony. she simply covered her face when it was over, she walked over to her husband with a sullen
