mark: let's bring in matt miller. taken a look at what is going on with gm versus ford by the numbers. how does gm compared to the other automakers have cash on hand? matt: general motors is obviously a bigger automakers in for some a chrysler or any other automaker besides toyota. it's interesting to take a look at their cash reserves when his announcement was made that they would buy back $20 billion week as they said they always wanted to keep a between $25 billion -- $20 billion and $25 billion on reserve. if you look at ford versus general motors, gm has about $25.2 billion, but after this payout, gm will have less money in cash then ford does. in fact, although ford has slightly more debt has more unfunded pension liabilities. this is the second slide, if you will. you will see those numbers compared. ford only has $6 million -- 6 million cars in global production and gm has 10 million. i thought maybe gm didn't have that many. mark: what does gm need to spend money on? matt: they need to spend money on things l

matt miller is in washington. matt? matt: the s&p 500 a bonus.he reason we are gathered with is because you have formed a coalition to compete with airlines that you say get unfair subsidies. >> we are working together to ask our government to investigate, to have consultations with the governments of the uae about what we presented them, over $40 billion in subsidies that make the plane -- that make this playing field more level. it is not good for the united states, it is not good for u.s. jobs, something we think we should have consultations about. matt: every round-trip route that american airlines lose to these gulf airlines loses america about 800 jobs. how would you turn that around? doug: american airlines would like to fly to india, but given how low the fares are because of the subsidized flights that fly over the middle east into india, we cannot do that. they are flying at fares we cannot beat profitable -- that cannot be profitable. a lot of airplanes coming into these carriers. they will need to fly them somewhere. this will get wor
