petunias trend coming your way matt pelman. >> sunny trend i like that.re in the midst of a construction trend on the roads this morning. don't like that as much. work going on in the southbound lanes of 95 between the airport and 420 as you enter delaware county. you can see they're pretty much off to the side now. traffic is moving along just fine headed down toward the delaware state line. no major complaints. we're not complaining on the vine street expressway because once again it stayed opened last night. they were scheduled to close the vine each night this week but then the beams they were going put in place didn't arrive on time so they had to postpone those overnight closures of the vine. everything is opened in both directions but the paving work continues along the kelly drive. so watch out for the crews outer there until about 6:30 this morning then they'll leave during the rush hour come back during midday then come back during the overnight. the mlk would be a better bet. you get a sense of all the construction we had out that and we had on

. >> also, let's go on over to matt pelman taking a look at your traffic out there. at's it like for people who are commuting matt. >> so far nothing to be too worried about. it is the 13th day of the month. so far this morning we're looking if as we come out of the burbs in delco. busy interchange not too busy so far this morning with traffic in each direction moving fine. those are your southbound headlights coming down toward chester. but in tredyffrin township chester county construction going on this week. restrictions during the middays all week in a couple of spots. i would avoid radnor road at upper gulf, maybe use old eagle school or king of prussia road as some alternates and i would also probably avoid cassatt road from 9:00 until 3:00 between green road and wooded way. 252 or valley forge road some alternates around that. speaking of valley forge, we've had so many closures recently in and around the park including the recent closure of 252 through the end of july. that joins yellow springs road which is also blocked until the end of july. now joining the

let's go over to matt pelman.ood morning. >> bicycle day today, sounds like a perfect day to go out and ride on the bike. that way you miss all the traffic troubles,, too and you miss all the construction crews that are going to be out during the midday today. let's talk about some of them matt and tam as we head to the burbs early this morning. this is the blue route 476 at the media swarthmore interchange the exit for baltimore pike. right now everything is moving fine in each direction but just like yesterday, the line painting crews are going to be out and about painting those little white lines along the blue route again today. now, i give you the heads up about this because i don't want you to be driving down the blue route crossing over between the lanes crossing over wet paint and then getting that all over your car so just heads up watch outer for those crews and watch out for the possibility of wet paint along the blue route really the whole way between 95 and the mid-county tolls. elsewhere in delco, he

closed for the villanova parade are back opened but there's still that friday night gridlock. >> matt pelmanhe "action news" traffic center with the very latest. matt. >> they're trying and the good news for them is things are substantially less wild than they were earlier especially in center city when we had all those street closures. now market and 15th are back in business. septa buses no longer being detoured. but on the highways, it's friday afternoon so yeah a lot of speeds are in the teens on the schuylkill. crash on the westbound side by 30th street station. luckily it's off to the side but still extra backed up from vare out to that point under 30th street. this is an issue in delco, 95 southbound extra jammed from past the airport through this point at the commodore barry bridge. it was a crash and fuel spill. now, the good news is they got it pushed off to the right shoulder a little quicker than expected so all the southbound lanes are opened but it is still definitely a slow go. however, on the pennsylvania turnpike in chester county you still want to steer clear. it's a mess.

let's head to matt pelman starting on the schuylkill. cold start with cold feelings about the traffic on the schuylkill which isn't all that surprising. but there was a crash in the westbound lanes just past the conshohocken curve. the vehicle was smoking a little while ago. now they have it on a nat bed tow truck. hopefully the crash is cleared out before too long but what a delay it's caused. single digit speeds in spots on the long stretch from the roosevelt boulevard out to that accident scene past the conshohocken curve. head for ridge pike as an alternate this morning. this is the westbound vine street expressway. bumper to bumper off 95 the whole way out to the schuylkill we're on the ramp from the westbound vine to the westbound schuylkill. there's another accident partially blocking that ramp. and we had a crash earlier this morning in bellmawr on 295 northbound approaching 42. the right lane is blocked. delay has grown. just 4 miles per hour coming north of national park. tam. >> okay, thank you, matt. we'll take a short break

matt pelman in the "action news" traffic center with the very latest on the commute home. hey, matt. >> rick, the problem that has trumped all others this afternoon, so far you're going hear that a lot over the next few months by the way, has been a broken down truck on the schuylkill expressway eastbound approaching girard avenue. the good news is that truck is now cleared out of the way. if you're electing to use the schuylkill eastbound you'll hit traffic from the boulevard eastbound into girard but at least the truck is gone. all three lanes back in business now. on the big picture, we're going to see some heavy traffic coming out of south philadelphia when the ball game ends in just a bit. we're in the seventh right now so a couple innings to go and then 95 will be clogged as will the westbound side of the schuylkill. also watching a crash in north philadelphia along north broad at clearfield by the taco bell. we have that one in cheltenham township along glenside aviatrices mill by vinnie's pizza. watch out for a wreck along norristown road and mckee road and there's

matt pelman standing by with that update. hey, matt. >> batman is everywhere. to save the day along the schuylkill expressway sharrie. i have a feeling it's going to be a rough evening because in south philadelphia we have not only the phils but also the flyers, both around 7 o'clock. that means a lot of people are going to be headed eastbound on 76 to get to those games and already you can see it's quite clogged here from the boulevard on in towards south street. 37 minutes on the eastbound travel time. should be 14. nowhere close this afternoon. 95 you's also going to be congested. looks okay right now through south philadelphia but we have two separate accidents on the roosevelt boulevard southbound. one at strahle, the other at rhawn. bottom line is if you're coming southbound on the boulevard stay in the outer drive there both toward the inner drive. >>> university city 37th and chestnut traffic lights flashing. caution through that area. radnor township a crash along 30 lancaster avenue at old eagle school road. still have the wreck in west grove chester

. >> let's go live to matt pelman in the "action news" traffic center. >>> hi, matt. >> brian, sharrie, buckle up. this is not going to be a fun ride home. as we look live on 95 this does not bode well whatsoever. emergency repairs to the northbound lanes of 95, only one right lane is getting by here in the ongoing work zone and if you know 95 you know this is a spot where we would normally be all jammed up in the afternoon just because of volume. so many people trying to get out of the city. this afternoon all those people are being funneled down into just one right lane here between girard and allegheny. it is going to be a mess of an afternoon on northbound 95 and it already is. we're stacked solid from the girard point bridge in south philadelphia north through this point just north of girard avenue and of course this is having a spillover effect onto all of the surrounding roads like the vine street expressway eastbound completely parked across town from the schuylkill out 295. westbound's also backing up headed toward 76. as much as you can you want to stay on the local city stre

let's get another check of the roads tonight and see if there are any dogs on the loose out there, matt pelmandelays that's for sure but nothing as fun as that. good afternoon to you sharrie. good afternoon everybody. there's police activity, i don't think it's a dog claims but police activity in camden on the admiral wilson boulevard route 30 eastbound side by federal street. you can see the officers taking out the right lane. as you come east away from the ben franklin bridge you're hitting a jam headed towards the old airport circle because of that police activity in the right lane on the admiral wilson boulevard. aside from that it's been a couple issues on 95 this afternoon that we have been watching. one was a crash in the southbound lanes by cottman. that cleared out but you still are looking at speeds like 10 miles per hour as you enter the work zone. then there's a wreck on the ramp from 95 southbound to the walt whitman bridge. so it's also slow there with speeds in the 20's. don't forget this has been our first workday without the walnut lane bridge which shut down on friday night f

. >> let's go live to matt pelman standing by in the "action news" traffic center with the first check this afternoon. >> we went from march madness to april madness on the roads as we started the new month this morning with a real mess. a miserable ride on i-95 because of problems in both directions by girard avenue brian and sharrie but this afternoon it's just volume in the southbound lanes headed toward the work zone at cottman avenue. this morning we were seeing 70 minute travel times on the southbound side, it's 23 this afternoon. that's a little more palatable if you're headed down to south philadelphia for the phils exhibition game, yes, welcome them back to town. this is 309 near springhouse. crash that i believe just cleared out. looks like the delay is still in the process of working itself out as you head down towards the pennsylvania turnpike. willow grove a wreck this afternoon along moreland road at easton road. also one in lower moreland along pine road at welsh road an leftover from this morning, you know how i feel about the leftovers, never like 'em its a gas plane b

matt pelman get us home, please. >> and the league of afternoon commuters are hitting the roads this afternoon trying to get home and start the weekend, start the passover weekend for our jewish friends. this is 95 northbound side already sluggish from 452 through this point at 322 in delco on up toward the blue route. in chester county we're watching a crash early this afternoon in kennett square along cypress street at walnut. crossing into new castle county a couple accidents. one along centreville road near old capitol trail. another is in newark along old baltimore pike at pleasant valley road but getting into new castle county has not been nearly as difficult today at the delaware memorial bridge. we've seen some sluggishness from time to time because one lane is still blocked for that emergency construction but that means three lanes have been opened today so this morning we didn't really see any delays whatsoever. this afternoon i expect just a few but most of the speeds right now are in the 50's. in burling township watch out for a crash at rancocas road at elbo lane. no maj
