. >> matt pelman in the action traffic center. t.g.i.f. to you matt. >> officially it is the last friday of the summer and looking a lot like all our other fridays in the summer really busy on the roads. this is its schuylkill expressway close to the roosevelt boulevard. check out these travel times. three times what they ideally should be. 46 minutes to get westbound out of town, that's because basically it's a solid line of traffic the whole way from university avenue on out toward conshohocken. you also have a long line of traffic on the westbound pennsylvania turnpike. we're not really used to this in the afternoons. this is a morning delay. westbound from bensalem out to fort washington teens speeds in the teens and 20's due to two earlier accidents but those crashes have been gone now for a long time. in pottstown our crash that was blocking 100 northbound is gone but now there's one on 422 westbound past 724. that doesn't seem to be impeding us a whole lot and in chadds ford still have that crash that brought down the pole and wires

. >> matt pelman in the "action news" traffic center. will be a a busy friday especially for folks trying to get to the shore matt, hm. >> yeah, there are plenty of them trying to do that. made in america is making a mess of our commute between center city and the art museum this evening, rick and monica, because the ben franklin parkway is completely shut down. all drives both directions so here in this shot you can see all the traffic trying to use that one northbound lane on 20th street. all these people waiting on the local vine, absolutely parked passing the new mormon temple trying to get to 20th street. it is a mess. gridlock in the area. if you can stay away from the parkway, you'll be better off. normal jams on the vine expressway. over on the schuylkill expressway there's a tractor-trailer accident eastbound by gulph mills but mostly on the shoulder so while there are delays on the schuylkill it's not too bad right here in schuylkill township there's a downed tree along 29 state road. i would use white horse road as an alternat

matt pelman in the "action news" traffic center with an update on this labor day and traffic slowly goingeah, not a lot of people laboring. a lot of people taking the day off as you know brian and this car decided to do the same. it doesn't want to run here on the eastbound side of the schuylkill expressway near the conshohocken curve. the good news is it's off to the side. you can see police and a tow truck there assisting but eastbound traffic is a little bit slow on the schuylkill coming away from the blue route through this point at the conshohocken curve. and in center city the cleanup continues between center city and the art museum along the ben franklin parkway after the made in america concerts this weekend but what i have been seeing is some traffic coming off the local vine going through the red light and making the curve there onto the outer drive of the parkway. it does appear to now be reopened so slowly but surely they are getting that ben franklin parkway reopened but still cleaning up in some spots along it. in concorde township cleanup has ended with that crash northboun

let's go live to matt pelman and find out. >> that's a good way to look at it yeah couldn't have gotten worse. this afternoon i guess it's not quite as bad but still we've got major issues monica and brian. here on 95 since last we spoke, a vehicle broke down from the northbound lanes approaching cottman avenue up here in the worked the right --n the work zone the right lane is blocked. it's substantial from penn's landing through this point at allegheny up to cottman, 48 minute ride. that's more than a half hour delay on the northbound side. southbound near bridge street there was police activity. luckily that has cleared out so southbound is not so bad. northbound not so good right now on i-95. still have a crash to watch out for in upper merion along upper gulph road near gulph road 320. and there's still that overturned vehicle accident near trenton just a shoulder is opened along 29 northbound past 129 canal boulevard. little bit farther north in pennington a gas main break continues to close 31. main street 640 gets you around that. we've got a couple accidents in northern delawar

matt pelman keeping tabs on things in the "action news" traffic center. >> traditionally this is onef the busiest friday afternoons of the summer before the labor day holiday but thanks to that pesky hermine we're not seeing quite as many people as normal heading down the shore. don't worry, though, there are still jams across the walt whitman bridge onto 42 southbound here passing 130 headed on down toward 295. the bigger problems come in farther along down around vineland. if you're getting onto 55 southbound watch out, there is a vehicle fire past route 40 taking out the right lane. so just single digit speeds there as you come away from elmer and head down toward vineland on 55 southbound, that's probably not a spot in which you want to be this afternoon. 47 the delsea drive could be a better bet. some of you of course take the black horse pike or the white horse pike down the shore instead of the a.c. expressway. there's a crash on the white horse pike route 30 this afternoon at fleming pike so that also might not be the best choice. back live in center city plenty of traffic he
