i'm matt pieper in for anne-marie green. we start with today's rare celestial event. it will turn day into night. are you ready for the solar eclipse? do you have your spot staked out and gear including glasses? the weather could be dicey. clouds are forecast for much of the eclipse route. texas is likely to have the heaviest cloud cover, while vermont, maine, and canada are expected to have the clearest skies. cbs' lana zak is in indianapolis where people have been camping out all weekend waiting for the big moment. a lot of excited people i'm sure. >> reporter: absolutely. we definitely have our space staked out, matt. you know, the last time indianapolis had a total solar eclipse was 819 years ago. so you can imagine the level of excitement here as 40,000 to 50,000 people are expected right here to witness this cosmic kismet. today the indianapolis motor speedway hosts a different history-making event, becoming what's believed to be the largest viewing site in the country for the solar eclipse. >> every indycar driver views this place as your kind of sued -- pseudo
