matt: not at all.he markets have to remember we survived all clinton's scandals scandals, then's bush wars, some of president obama's policies that might not have been as business friendly. the medium has changed with the tweets, and i agree with the other panelists. these sorts of risks change much more than the fundamentals. the storiese of that has been made is the big story for the havens. you don't see the proportional move from equities into treasuries the same way as we did a year ago. it is a big focus of this program and i am trying to get a better under -- better understanding as to why, why risks don't have the same haven quality they used to. that what has changed is we are seeing the correlation between stocks and higher policy bonds change. one of the reasons is that we are getting more back to normal, more back to an inflation mindset. you are clearly right. feel risk on, risk off anymore. it feels as if things are moving in the same direction. that is causing problems for people. their

matt: matt: the bigger scale helps you negotiate.you be able to squeeze a lot of savings out of suppliers? what we are proposing is to harmonize the bind book. if are buying a particular product for certain price, we expect out of the same price in both of the businesses. if you stand back and look at our business, we have thousands of suppliers but about a hundred suppliers make up 85% of our business. there's real benefits here for the supplier as well. they have the opportunity to have a very efficient level. lift all of their wide range of products. it's a great platform to launch into the market.

matt matt:. guy. thanks very much. us, iain stealey.getting a lot of data out on europe, and it seems that in that weces, the growth are seeing is still stable but slowing. what is your take on european growth? iain: that's a fair point. the problem we had is when we looked at the pmi data that we were seeing over the last few months, it was a bit too optimistic, pointing to growth that was a little bit better than what the hard data was showing. that pmi data has rolled over some of the survey data, but probably more in line with what the european economy can achieve. the 2.5% growth. we are very constructive on europe as a whole. we see growth positive this year. what would be more of a concern is if you saw a greater rollover or continuation of that survey data rolling down. hopefully, it stabilizes here. over,he data are rolling particularly the survey data, because of the facts. capacity constraints are starting to impact companies. as a result of which, they are not able to drive higher from here. that would seem to me to be a pos

matt?h there has been so talk about the flattening of the yield curve, and no matter where you look, the five, the authorities come of the twos or the tens, we see a flatter yield curve than we have seen over a decade. i have the 10 years of the yield curve here on my chart, you could interact with it on bloomberg and you can see that we have not seated this flat -- the very beginning of this year is 10 years ago today, and now we are looking at the most recent one. we saw it slip a little last night, but otherwise, it is the flattest it has been in 10 years. the bottom end of the curve has come up, and that is really what is happened. .he third-year comes down a lot we will talk to all of our guests about why this is happening. anna? anna: there were comments around the probes, and the involvement of president trump michaelnvestigation of cohen. they are expected to be a little bit positive on u.s. trade. but we are little bit flat on the curve. we will be talking to one of our guests come

matt, what are you seeing? a big game to the upside, 300 stocks gaining, less than 200 falling right now. as far as the losers, right up there at the top, asml taking the most index points off the stoxx 600. we knew chip stocks would have a rough day today, and asml designs chips. it will be a big loser. other ones that we see losing interestingly akzonobel, we talked to the ceo about them missing their target. dividend today. there are a couple that are ex dividend. they are not big drags. if you look down there, you see a couple other tech stocks. infineon, a couple of losers. bigs at the top, such a stock it does not have to move much to move the index. it is up more than 1%. diageo is up 1%. bae systems up. telenor up as well. the telecom stocks are doing relatively well today. -- now my screen is batty. but there is a look at what that index is doing. guy: batty, that is a technical term from matt miller. the ftse 100 is down. chinese markets had a strong session overnight both in terms of the mainland and

guy and matt.att: let me quickly break some volkswagen earnings, we have them coming through right now. if you look at the reported earnings for the first quarter, looks like volkswagen came in a on the streetst estimates, just barely missing on sales at 58.2 billion, the street was looking for 58.36, you can call that in line because it is close enough in percentage terms i guess but missing more in percentage terms and absolute numbers on operating profit, 4.2 one billion was reported, 170 million short of the 4.30 8 billion the street was looking for. will calm investors to see the new ceo is not changing fiscalecast for the 2018, he still sees 2018 6.5%ting profit margins at to 7.5%. he still sees sales rising as much as 5% this year. we will continue to follow those headlines for you. keeping policy unchanged in its decision later today but mario draghi is likely to face questions about euro area growth from sagging business confidence to falling industrial output. the region seems to be losin
