let's go to matthew fox from san francisco, founder of friends grace and spiritual. he is author of a book "the pope's war." matthew, i know you're going to dive a little deeper here, so what is your first read on pope francis? >> i think the positive side, you mentioned many things, third world pope. he lived a very simple life. he turned down a palace and lives in a simple apartment. he takes the bus to work and cooks his own meals. he's not particularly ambitious. he didn't climb the ladder like benedict xvi. that's a plus. he took the name francis, which is presumably about rebuilding the church because that was francis' dream. and i wish him well. also he's been a good pastoral man, visiting a.i.d.s. patients and things like that. that's the bright side. the shadow side or the red flags that come up are that he was a member of communion liberation. i write about this group in my book "the pope's war." they're the italian version of opus dei. maybe as a pope he'll open things up, but they are all about obedience and nothing more. i hope he doesn't take that all to
