ktvu's maureen naylor now has details in santa clara where we learn much more about the incident at mcdonald's home. maureen. >> reporter: ray mcdonald was at practice here today on what is his 30th birthday. his arrest came at his birthday party over the weekend which today we learned many teammates attended. inside the 49er locker room. ray mcdonald was not at his locker or available to the media. but for the first time since his arrest, multiple teammates spoke out and expressed support. calling him a person of good character. >> i know ray is a great guy. everybody in this locker room knows ray is a great guy. >> the truth will come out. >> reporter: that was mcdonald sunday morning as he was leaving jail. the 49er was arrested on felony domestic violence charges after this 911 call. >> her fiance was hitting her at this address. and was trying to pull her out of the house, she's 10 weeks pregnant and refused medical. >> reporter: today police released new details. >> we know that the officers observed visible injuries on the victim. therefor there was probable cause to arrest mr. mcdonald

maureen naylor is live at livermore at the school in the center of this incident, maureen. >> reporterl us that the incident the hazing incident happened inside a locker room at this livermore charter high school. now tonight, two football players 17 years old each face misdemeanor charges after investigators say they held down a freshman teammate and shaved a portion of his head. and officers tell us there's video of the incident. >> police say the hazing incident happened on the campus of livermore valley charter preparatory high school. around 7:00 last wednesday night. tonight we were there at the same time as the high school football team left practice with gear in hand. several players tell us they could not talk and multiple parents aware of the incident did not want to comment. the two teens were arrested friday night which was also the team's first home game. tonight we met these soccer players that go to a close by school and heard about the incident. >> i don't think it's fair. because it was two kids that were smaller than him. so i don't think it was fair for the kids. >>

maureen naylor is live to tell us what's new and different for the class of 2018. maureen. >> today kicked off a welcome week for 1,600 new freshman who tonight are spending their first night here on the farm and they've already completed a new lesson in staying safe here on campus. tonight as students finished getting in. >> for his sister we -- >> reporter: we met this freshman who still had his own stuff to unpack. >> it was hilarious because i was the last one to check in my dorm. >> reporter: 21 freshman and 21 students taking part in move in day. a welcome back of sorts with balloons and song. the class of 2018 had the lowest acceptance rate ever because of rising application numbers. >> a lot of people from my school applied and a lot of people picked this school. and only two people got in. >> i really like the campus. even though i might get struck by something for saying that. >> reporter: here there was pomp and circumstance this afternoon. >> i started to tear up a little bit. and she thought i was joking around but i wasn't. those were real tears. >> re

maureen naylor, ktvu, channel 2 news. >>> the 49ers head coach jim harbaugh skirted questions about ray rice's termination. harbaugh wouldn't say if he had seen the video yet, and when asked if the ray rice case would have any bearing on ray mcdonald, he would only say, he's already addressed the matter. san jose police say they noticed his fiance had quote, visible injuries. today, police told us investigators are still compiling the facts, and have not yet handed the case over to the district attorney's office. >>> a walnut creek police officer pleaded -- a year in county jail for the august 16 attack. they say thompson beat a woman with a baseball bat out his father's vacant home. >> he went down there because people had been breaking into his father's vacant house. he found a woman who he believed may be going into his father's house. >> prosecutors say that woman was innocent, and just happened to be walking in the neighborhood after her car ran out of gas. this afternoon, we confirmed thompson retired from the walnut creek police department last friday, after 30 years of service.
