good evening, i'm kristine johnson, maurice is off tonight. first more bitter cold temperatures. >> that first chance for snow right now, putting some snow down around st. louis, as far as that cold air, it's cold right now, 27 degrees. you were real cold this morning. cold again tomorrow morning at 23. not quite as brutal. still windchills in the teens, just not as cold as it was this morning. so many things have to happen. this low around las vegas has to combine with some pacific northwest moisture. it's got to go over the rocky mountains, travel over the southern plains, a lot in order to track this thing coming right into our area, it has to go perfectly right in order for it to happen. right now, the computer models put it into say virginia, friday 5:30 a.m. if at this point it goes due east, and right along the jersey storm, that would be a big new york city storm. if it goes out to sea, it's a storm for the fish. as of right now, even the said no one path has anything better than a 49% probability. so we've got to stay on top of this.

good evening, i'm kristine johnson, maurice is off tonight. we begin with lonnie quinn, keeping his eye on the storm from the weather center with some new information just in. >> reporter: you betcha, kj. i've got the new information tore you. so i want to get right to it, because we're in here devouring this. two of the models are now calling for pretty low totals in new york city. but two of the models are calling for crazy numbers, 18 inches. even these numbers i'm going to adjust. smaller numbers to it's north, they get bigger to the south. and the bulls eye is pushing towards washington, d.c. 21.4inches in new york. what i do not like about this, notice the numbers get bigger as you go north. 31.8inches in montgomery. i don't believe that's possible. i believe there's a blocking high pressure system north of this, that's not going to allow it to move north. so i'm going to discount this model. these are my numbers. this is the way i see it. i'm going 4 to 8 inches around new york city. not far away is where you'll find that 12-inch range.
