max gordon joins us now in pacific palisades. max, tell me about this new fire and the wind pick-up, please. reporter: there, stu, well here is the latest on the auto fire burning near oxnard, california in ventura county. that fire is still 0% contained as of the last update but they were able to stop forward progress at 56 acres. it currently isn't threat earning buildings and it's burning through a dry riverbed. but firefighters are going to jump on any fire that lights today. that's because we're dealing with a particularly dangerous situation, 45 to 70-mile per hour winds. we've already had one wind gust of 72 miles per hour, but the good news is that there are a lot of firefighting resources on the ground here in southern border. 15,000 firefighting personnel from across the western states, even from canada and mexico, right here, ready to battle the blazes. now, where i'm standing right now this is the aftermath of the palisades fire in pacific palisades, and you know, we've been showing you the images of the devastation, s

max gordon whats the latest. >> you feel for people like that interview right there where they've lostolutely everything. you look at homes just like the one behind me right here and there is simply nothing left. photos, so many memories just gone in flames. a particularly dangerous situation is about to unfold once again here in southern california. the national weather service warning that winds between 45 to 70 miles-per-hour are expected between early tomorrow morning and into wednesday at noon. the reason why this is so serious is that there are embers, of course, still left in these fire-scarred areas and also the vegetation is just so dry. take a look at this right here. you can just see the dryness of all the grass and vegetation out there on the slopes. if an ember catches one of these bushes it can go up in an instant and spread the flames even further. right here on the palisades fire we have about 13% containment. currently sitting 24,000 acres right now. it was earlier in the weekend making a run toward the neighborhood of brentwood. firefighters there have gotten that lin

max gordon,s we'll check in again with you shortly. we want to talk about the weather forecast though. this fire initially broke out tuesday morning in the middle of an extreme santa ana wind event, got out of control very quickly. the winds died down the last couple of days but, unfortunately, more winds forecasted to hit the southern california area. for more on that, we want to send it to meteorologist adam klotz who's tracking this fore forecast. adam a, when are the new winds expected to arrive, because that is the last thing these firefighters need out here. adam: it certainly is. this brief amount of time we are seeing calm conditions, but if you look back tuesday and wednesday, the winds were 70, 80, 90, 100 miles a, hour. we're not expected anything like that, but winds are on the way. currently across the entire region here's a look at all of the different fires now sitting just really north of los angeles county, across northern portions of los angeles county, spreading out and taking hold of this entire region. unfortunatel

/mexico border foxbusiness max and gordon is alive in malibu. what can you tell us from your perspective? >> we are taught what those winds you might be able to hear the winds in my microphone right now by the wind is starting to pick up here. we are starting to see blue skies a clearance of smoke in the malibu area. you are once again able to see all the way to santa monica and the greater los angeles area. it's truly surreal that's the only way you can describe it. you see waves of the pacific ocean crashing onto the burnt out remains of these once beautiful homes. these multi- million-dollar homes that burnt down here in the palisades fire. now we are on the western side of the fire. these homes went up in the early hours of monday or early tuesday morning. we see that most fire activity in the last day or so. the rhyme and speaking to fire officials this morning that is been buttoned up prison preventing of the spread moving towards very, very impressive. but there been a number of issues as well with drones. around 48 drone incursions aroun
