i do not know if mayer brown is here, but it is important to it knowledge him. after all, he started the project many years ago. you will be hearing more about that in a moment. it will include thousands of new residential units, parks, open space, shops, retail, restaurant, and so forth. you will be hearing a lot about that from the mayor and jane. in addition, the men and women working on our construction site. you can see some of them here today. they are very dedicated and have been working hard on the project. i want to thank them for their hard work today. i am thrilled to report the project is on budget and on schedule. with respect to the demolition, over 55,000 hours of work completed without any accident or injury. so thank you for such a great job. in addition, we recycled over 92,000 cubic yards of concrete. that is enough to fill 28 olympic-sized swimming pools. in addition to that, we recycled 200,000 tons of steel. so we are really doing our job. when we reopening, we will be lede gold certified. without further ado, i want to introduce district 6

mayer brown, thank you very much. i know you are out there somewhere., thank you for being here as well. i am is so happy, because we have a lot of things to celebrate. and i want to first and foremost thank one of the people that i have had a chance to work with, and i think she is a proud member of the filipino-american community here in san francisco, and that has been my chief adviser on families, children, education, and of course she is the president of our school board. hydra mendoza, thank you. thank you for being here. [applause] you know, as we celebrate filipino history month, we recognize the filipino history that is inextricably a part of our city's history. and during the historic struggle that we kept seniors -- remember those years where we stood on an alliance to protect our senior residence of the international hotel. we still had that legacy here, as we still a contract with residents of that hotel south of market. even today, i am proud, having stood on that that line and still fighting for justice and social causes to help with our

i served eight years on the board of supervisors and five years for mayer brown. i ran the complaint department. my approach to running for mayor is a look at the big picture by making the things that we rely upon every day better, serving the interests of the people that live here and work here. school is important as well. i am a public school parent. for the future of san francisco, we have to have great schools for the children of today and the workers of tomorrow. i was proud to work on a by attacks credit, creating synergy. thank you. [applause] >> mr. hall? >> good evening, folks. i assume you are here to see the different candidates. by m. tony hall. i am not a member of a political party. i am running to be a working mayor offering serious solutions. fraught with programs that will cost the taxpayer down the road , we all need a serious solution to pension reform to bring all of these pension benefits. i am talking about keeping expenditures in line with revenues, cutting special- interest deals. we are talking about a san francisco income-tax. city hall

now if you follow the story from the beginning, you know brown, a form mer candidate for mayer, testified before a dc council committee and produced money orders he says were given to him by brooks. brown says he was also given cash and the promise of a job if gray won the election. gray won the election and brown was required and fired from a six figure position. mayor gray today reiterated that a payment and promises of a job were made to brown, who knew nothing about it. he has not been called before the federal grand jury. he has not been told he is a target. >> i haven't been called for anything at this stage. we want to cooperate with this investigation as we said we would. we want to continue to provide whatever witnesses, whatever documentation is requested of us. >> reporter: you are going to be surprised if it turns out there were irregularities in the campaign? >> i'm surprised this thing happened in the first place. >> lorraine green the chairman of the great campaign has denied brown's claim she gave him money and that job. as on for harold brooks, 9 news now has never been a
