no major problems on 580 the mccarthur freeway. this morning's commute is looking okay on the peninsula. southbound 101, southbound 280 across the bay. southbound 880 looks good. all the way into the santa clara valley which is off to a good start. here is steve. >>> thank you, sir. well a lot of low clouds are off to a good start. there is a big fog bank being helped along by an area of low pressure. it will stay there for awhile. the tropical clouds are gone. so more low clouds. coolest day today and tomorrow. 50s en60s by -- 50s and 60s by the coast. 70s and 80s inland. temperatures will be below average. it's been a tough, tough time in san francisco. 61 same as yesterday. temperatures well below average. low clouds and fog if they don't have it yet filling in soon. so the flow around that clock wise takes a lot of it out of the picture. last week we had lots of it in southern california. 50 miles an hour winds. it's going to weaken the wind. and lesser amounts you get towards oahu and kauai. 50s on the temps. this won't change

and it looks very good from vallejo all the way out to the mccarthur maze and bay bridge toll plaza. and there are no major problems at the toll plaza. so all kidding aside, i think it's a pretty good commute. if you are getting on the road early, you should have pretty good conditions getting across the bridges and going to your final destination here. if you are driving into the south bay, for example, right now it's a good time to do it. northbound 280 getting up to highway 17. so the traffic is good. what about the weather? >> sal, i kid you not i'm seeing more people on the road. >> i think they want to avoid the traffic. >> i think you are right. we have areas of fog that burned off. 60 ann 70s. there is still low clouds. there are some a little thicker. i know we had some in upper county. 50s and 60s on the temps. a little cool for some but there is a westerly breeze. high pressure is building in. it's not been drinking its power shakes or anything. it's warm to hot. i think a lot of areas will top out today and tomorrow. there is thick fog so keep an eye on things. 60s and 70
