start on the mcconnell statement. so rich.l, trump is going around calling kamala harris fascist. whatever. to see that statement from him amp getting these headlines from biography -- what do you make of it? >> extraordinary thing. you know, mitch mcconnell played a particularly irresponsible role in the effort to address the donald trump threat to american democracy. he knew that trump had incited the violent insurrection against congress, against mike pence, against the constitution. he said that the house impeachment managers had basically made our case and that donald trump was ethically and personally responsible for everything that took place, but he went back to this fraudulent jurisdictional argument that the senate lacked jurisdiction to try a former president, which was a legal issue we had dealt with in a procedural motion on the very first day of the trial. yet he hung his hat on that along with 15 or 20 other republican senators. the senate didn't do their job although we had a 57-43 vote. trump beat the constitu
