jeff: this is a huge blow for governor mcdonnel. it looks like he will begin serveing a two-year prison sentence. the appeals court reaffirming the conviction finding quid pro quo payments in place and governor mcdonnel acted with corrupt intent. here is one of the more memorable passages from the 89-page ruling from the appeals court today. saying that the appellants mcdonnel received a fair trial and was dually convicted by a jury of the fellow virginians. former governor bob mcdonnell and his wife maureen found guilty on corruption charges and accused of using the government office to promote businessman's products in exchange for $180,000 in loan and gifts including a rolex, ferrari ride and luxury golf outings. today's ruling has more impact on maureen's appeal. more on that in the weeks to come. they are issuing a statement saying they are disappointed in the court's ruling.
