. >> we're talking with mckenna kelly, wired magazine, and we're talking about big tech. e lines as issue, 202-748-8001 republicans. democrats 202-748-8000. independents, 8002. makena kelly, explain what we mean by the term big tech and what big tech's relationship has been when it comes to getting involved in presidential campaigns in recent years? >> sure, big tech qualifies a handful of major tech companies in the united states. that would be meta, previously facebook and its platform instagram. we have google as well, microsoft, i think open ai is now becoming, you know, wrapped into this big tech definition as well, and over the last couple of years, i mean, i think predominantly when you look at the spending from, you know, the top of this decade. a lot of what the big tech companies were doing were funding efforts. eric schmidt used to be a big leader in google, one of the premier democratic fundraisers, he's been involved in a lot of democratic politics, really famously supported hillary clinton and other democrats and they've been enwrapped in democratic politics
