joining me is tom mckenzie, my co-anchor.irst of all bring us up to date with the latest situation at the ukraine and poland border. tom: yes, we are right on that border in a crossing called madika. refugees continue to come over. the vast majority of course women and children. the total number as you say 1.2 million. just into poland in the last 12 days. those numbers continue to grow. this is the biggest refugee crisis since world war ii. conditions are challenging. it is minus 2 as you can see it is snowing. you have a tent village that has sprung. police on the ground and the polish military. i met a number of who come here to try to help the refugees. the system is very basic. people are living and sleeping in tents and being given food where they can get it and medical supplies and warm clothing and there is a need for so much more. refugees have to line up on the ukrainian side of the border and sometimes stay overnite a number of day before they are able to cross over. then of course there is the broad implications f
