so mckenzie has coined this phrase when she talks about preparing for war. she wants to be smart enough that if we wind up in conflict, that we live and they die. she says it better. but the core point for me is that you want to have enough military capability and credibility to fight that we will prevent the wars from happening in the first place. we are at a point in our national defense strategy where china and russia have become our top concerns for planning. heaven forbid we actually fight them. we have to go back to the old line that the purpose of military forces in the future much largely be to prevent war from happening. ideally, it would always be true but it is especially true when you are dealing with a nuclear armed super power. so who might you -- against who might you fight, who would fight with you, how many wars at a time and what does the war look like, what margin of insurance or advantage or overmatch do you see so the enemy will hopefully not want to fight you in the first place. for those of you who think we spend too much on the milita

so this is too special for me, for melinda mckenzie, it's the fruitvale community that influenced herous headpieces. i'm born and raised here in the fruitvale district. i've always admired all of the aztec dancers and everyone who just puts on this beautiful celebration. so it inspired me to finally be able to bring out my creativity. this is the second largest dia de los muertos celebration in the state of california, with nearly 30 altars. just like this one honoring the lives of people they have lost. the two girls, they're there are cousins. they died when they were 21. drunk driver, unfortunate. the whole purpose of that is to not forget our loved ones, to keep them in our in our minds and our in our in our hearts and to be able to talk about them. so we don't forget some of these huge altars took hours to set up. we got to start preparing this for like 2 or 3 days ago. we got to wake up today at 4:00 the morning. each one welcoming back the souls of loved ones with meticulous details like salt to purify the spirit's soul and their favorite food and drink as a gift. this a way to
