unfortunately news coming for employees of mckesson. san francisco-based wholesale drug distributor announcing it's going to cut 1600 jobs, 4% of its u.s. workforce. it needs to cut costs to meet new business strategies. couple of weeks ago, mckesson went on a buying spree picking up three companies for $3 billion including canada's rexall pharmacy chain. unemployment was up 7,000 to 265,000. the four-week average flat. overall levels suggesting solid job growth. that was something noted by the federal reserve and wrapped up in its two-day meeting and left interest rates unchanged. williams-sonoma reported earnings for the 4th quarter and the san francisco-based company disappointed investors with its results. its revenue is up less than 3%. and while its sales were higher at the flagship chain and west elm did well, pottery barn sales were down by 2% and pottery barn is the biggest revenue generator for williams- sonoma. and as a result, williams- sonoma shares are tumbling in the early going. let's look at the big board, see how we're
