mclaren park is still a 300 an acre park with a lot of needs. this $10 million we're fully funding eight capital projects and augmenting funding for an additional four. the goal of having the work done in the change order is to deliver completed site for the community with a new playground, picnic area and restroom. as you can see -- oh. presentation. sorry. as you can see on the screen, a portion of the site directly overlaps between the restroom project and the playground. and it's at a critical point which is at the entrance. this is our ada entrance. if we were executing the contract in this manner, it would be challenging to potentially have two prime contractors sharing a site and we also didn't want to delay the project any longer. additionally we think the approach can save the project money by using a contractor that is already mobilized on site. it will allow us to better balance, cut and fill soil on the site. finally, we have a confirmed price from a contractor and don't have to go through the uncertainty of bidding the project separ

these are free concerts in mclaren park, which if you have not visited mclaren park, it is truly, truly, a treasure. and we are so grateful to friends of the amp for all of the blood, sweat, tears and just love you invest in the jerry garcia amphitheatre. please support them and show up next saturday. lastly, i return back to golden gate park on this whirlwind tour of our park system. i did want to update the commission on a milestone in our efforts to make golden gate park safer for pedestrians and bicyclists. we were joined by supervisor vallie brown along with bike and pedestrian advocates and our sister agencies mta and public works earlier this month in golden gate park to celebrate the last of 13 raised crosswalks recently installed in golden gate park, capping three years of traffic-calming measures in the park as part of the city's vision zero initiative. we were joined by supervisor brown, walk sf, communications director lindsay, and in fact, we all, including me, helped stripe the new raised crosswalk on j.f.k. drive east of 8th avenue on october 3rd. it was the first time in

highlights of mclaren park and the group picnic project is under way. we have work that's ongoing, that will be ongoing. the concept plan was just approved at the commission a couple weeks ago. we're excited about that. on our committee opportunity fund project, the phase one of the project is actually under way. also, it's slated to be complete in december of this year. a larger project, exciting project, the tennis center is under construction, which we're leveraging some community fund dollars with private philanthropy that broke ground this summer, slated to be complete in time for the 150th anniversary of golden gate. and our order conservation, which is in construction right now, slated to be completed this month. this is just some highlights and pictures of our recent, some of our recent work. the water conservation is one. it's under construction, slated to be completed in december on an average, when the water conservation project is complete, we expect to save over 2 million gallons of water from this effort. we're deeply excited about that. a

and clearer pathway system for walkers, bikers and other park users to navigate to and through mclaren park. we are really pleased to share the good news. we actually submitted letters of interest with our partners, the planning department for seven of these priority conservation areas. this would include areas such as ocean beach, the northern waterfront, treasure island, golden gate park and some other areas of the city. turning to treasure island we were happy to join the director bob back and commissioner linda richardson to remember a new -- to honor a new member. he was recently appointed by governor newsom to lead caltrans. we are honored to be his first stop in the bay area last week. talk a little bit more about that in the treasure island mobility management agency board overview. as far as our connectsf we had a great kickoff workshop and the southeast neighborhoods. three dozen neighborhood do organizations merchants, and folks came out to the southeast community facility last week. we had a workshop about what their current needs are and their priorities reflecting on some of t
