doug mcmillon wisely chooses to not say where he took share and what he did.ook, it's such a natural. if you want to do a house antitrust small business committee where you basically draw -- you draw these guys down to washington and say, how could you do this? it's unfair. i mean, how do they do it? because they're better run, got scale, became amazing companies and we should applaud them remember lowe's, marvin ellison has taken that company from a second rate to a first rate company. target was the breach, the security breach. so, yes, it doesn't pay to say how great you're doing in this market because washington does not want to reward you they want to punish you. that is not political. it's just what you do. let's call an apt truss investigation of why target is so good. that would be a shame. it's so good because brian cornell and his team, his teammates are so good. >> now, back to school cornell did say that the assortment on back to school would be available for longer because we know, jim, the season -- the school season is starting out choppy. looke

i only found at the day after fall today when my daughter who's a senior editor at hope mcmillon, but was it simon and she used her. she heard about the book and i hadn't heard anything about the book, actually was an advance copy she somehow got a hold of instantly for father's day. i am so thankful that you made this story so public. of course one thing that is new about your book as the coverage of the court-martial and how horrific an unfair it was. course one reason it didn't come out and see the light of the day is because it was a cover-up. i was really terrible that what happened to the captain what i had he had to suffer as a result of all of this. i thank you for telling this story. i know you're going to go to politics in and have the story at the wharf tonight. originally, apparently they weren't going to offer you a place to speak with. subsequently i learned that that was. so i hope it's getting good coverage. it certainly deserves. it's an incredible story. as an attorney, still trial attorney but not very much anymore to read about the court-martial and how difficult t

are one of the ceos is to have to be called in front of congress, whether you're domino's, doug mcmillonnd be asked how is it that you are able to destroy so many businesses is it fair maybe we need to break you up. they're great companies, they can buy in scale, they have great balance sheets i personally think that we as americans benefit from them, but i also know that also a lot of small businesspeople and a lot of districts that cannot compete and when you see the prices, when you go to the local hardware store versus home depot it's almost as if they would be better buying the stuff at home depot and selling it at their place than getting the wholesale price that they are doing. so if the congress investigates it's going to be whether the wholesale price is fair between the small and the big. i would argue that of course scale should win, but that's a congressional issue. maybe the small guys deserve a better wholesale price that could be an issue. >> there are some more headlines this morning, jim. i thought what's interesting about the walmart quarter is it was almost a flip of q
