my trip, i started to read up a lot of these lives of great win, like eleanor roosevelt, margaret meadevery name that is so familiar to us, but yet, we never had time to just sit and read their stories. these women just inspire us and motivate us to do even more. so i know that you are rushing, but i want to present you this little book that i read and finished. i know that you have lots of things to read, but i hope you will find time on your bookshelf for this one. i just wanted to give you this introductory remarks written for this little book. i think this was written by vincent wilson jr.. i think continually of those are truly great, the names of those who in their lives fought for lives, who were in their heart, the fire center. born of the sun, they traveled toward the sun. thank you so much for spending time with all of the honorees today and especially for this great honor. thank you. we put rosebuds in the water to attract peace, and it made a meade. it was sitting in the gallery.distill that through local herbs. it was really surprising how delicious it was, because we were mixing a lot of seemingly in congruent ingredients, and it was delicious and different from anything you have ever tasted. i would have been happy if it was medicinal. the idea was more important to me. but it was very good. it is something i think a lot about, especially transition history, native americans, how they have this combination of dress, from the clothing from trade companies, mixed with traditional dress. i love how reflective it is of who they are, and also the merging history's coming together. what would we look like if we carry our history with us? all of the merging of cultures, reflected in our address? i am thinking of my own history with early europeans coming in and intermixing with native cultures. the one thing i would like people to take away from after seeing my work is a sense of

we are extremely pleased to welcome to the podium and our luncheon, a discussion of russell mead. i know they have a great view of the new york countryside. i can see why he took flight there from washington. he is the henry -- he was the henry kissinger senior fellow for a u.s. foreign-policy at the council on foreign relations. i have a special affinity for walter, a book because we write about similar topics, largely from a similar perspective, and because we were both of security analysts, academics, scholars in the 1990's, writing books for the century foundation in new york. our books were published in 2002, and that is where the affinity stopped. walter's book became very well known and became famous, and i remained an obscure professor. his 1992 book is a real gem. i have a sign that book since it came out every year to my graduate foreign policy course. it is one of those books that has a timeless quality to it. the book not only popularized the schools of thought idea that has inspired our projects in terms of application to foreign countries, but it also made the novel
