news4's meagan fitzgerald is live in rockville tonight with this story. meagan? >> reporter: yeah, wendy. samuel ellis stood before a judge, as you mentioned. he took responsibility for the th also graduated from wootton high school behind us. he pled guilty to two charges of manslaughter with a motor vehicle. but as prosecutors put it, this wasn't a win for anybody. these are the images many in montgomery county won't forget, the results of drinking, speeding, and driving. police say 19-year-old samuel ellis was drunk on the night of june 25th after he and his friends left a party in north potomac. he lost control of his car wounding one passenger and killing calvin li and friend alexander murk. nearly ten months later, murk and ellis' family were in court when he took a plea bargain pleading guilty to two counts of manslaughter by a motor vehicle. >> this is very serious to us and there were no favors given or any kind of plea bargain, if you will, for this. it was a plea to the straight -- the top line charges. >> reporter: prosecutors say ellis was remorseful

meagan fitzgerald is live for us in rockville with details. meagan? >> reporter: yeah, and, jim, we had an opportunity to speak with many parents who have students that go to wootton high school just behind us here. they say they already assumed that their kids knew better than to drink and drive, but after seeing what happened last summer, they say they're not taking anything for granted. they've been having ongoing conversations with their kids about drinking and driving before it's too late. it's been nearly ten months since this terrible tragedy rocked a resulting in the death of two recent wootton high school graduates. but it doesn't feel like it was that long ago for several parents and students. investigators say 19-year-old samuel ellis was drunk when he and three other friends left a party in north potomac in june. ellis was driving when he lost control. calvin li and alexander murk died on scene. in court today, ellis took responsibility for that night accepting a plea bargain and pleading guilty to two counts of manslaughter with a motor v

what have you learned, meagan? >> reporter: what we're learning now is that police were saying it was 17-year-old maurice bellamy who shot and killed that police officer that happened in september. bellamy was already in prison, arrested just a few days ago for the murder of a 15-year-old boy who was shot and killed on the platform of that deanwood met easter. now the first incident happened in december on first street and southwest. police say charles sims, who was arrested on monday, and bellamy tried robbing arthur baldwin, an off duty secret service officer. sims and bellamy opened fire. the officer was transported to the hospital where he died. then last month one day before easter a 15-year-old boy was waiting for a metro train at the deanwood station. police say bellamy shot and killed the teen on the platform for no apparent reason. >> people in the community are sick of the violence, and the rumor that people don't cooperate or won't talk with the police or won't help us is not the case. we do get a lot of

meagan fitzgerald is in rockville outside the home day care he operated. >> reporter: the day care which is just over my shoulder, was licensed and it was operating since july of last year. they say there weren't any complaints, but on thursday montgomery county police were out here. they say they found blood evidence in and house which they believe ties divban to the crime. >> reporter: neighbors who live on grandin avenue say 35-year-old kia divban seemed like a nice guy. >> he seemed genuine. very nice, normal. >> reporter: katrina says she talked to divban last summer when he was advertising his business. >> he was walking by with his wife and son. his son was on a bike. they were handing out flyers for the day area they were opening up. >> the day area was called little dreamers, it operated out of divban's basement. last tuesday court documents say a 6-month-old child was rushed to the hospital. according to divban, the child was choking and vomiting, doctors soon found out that the baby suffered from blunt force trauma and died three days later. >> fresh fractures to her ribs, mul

meagan? >> reporter: police say that 35-year-old kia divban and his wife were operating a licensed day care facility inside their home behind us. according to the state, they didn't have any complaints. according to these court documents, it paints a devastating story of what might have happened inside the basement of that home to 6-month-old baby. for at least the last year, kia divban and his family have been living inside this home, that doubled as the little dreamers day care facility. katrina remembers the familied a v advertising the business last summer. she says she doesn't remember anything about the 35-year-old's demeanor that stands out. there was nothing about him that would have caused me to raise my haunches. >> reporter: but court documents tell a different story. montgomery investigators say last tuesday kia called 911 after a 6-month-old child named vil millie started vomiting, choking and lips turned blue. but after she arrived at the hospital serious trauma was discovered.

meagan fitzgerald has a newly released jailhouse phone call between miles and his girlfriend that took place shortly after that murder. >> the victim was set upon by these violences. he was savagely beaten to death and he was stabbed. >> reporter: it's been two years since the victim was murdered after a group of men broke into his silver spring house looking for drugs and money. for the first time, we're hearing a 911 call from someone who lived in the house and moments after the suspects took off. >> montgomery county, 911. what's the address emergency? hello? >> reporter: investigators say before the victim died, he managed to shoot 28-year-old tavon miles who was then driven to the hospital. prosecutors believe this video shows miles entering the emergency room lobby and then moments later another potential suspect walks in. prosecutors say dna evidence found on miles' clothes tied him to the crime, but he refused to identify the other suspects. >> the men took pains to make themselves unidentifiable. >> reporter: in a conversation miles had with his girlfriend while he was in jail
