again, you heard meagan fitzgerald recapping what witnesses told her, they heard from gunshots and saw a gunman walking away. police told us they do not have a suspect in custody at this time. folks from inside the mall telling us that the mall had not been placed on lockdown, has not been placed on lockdown. this is a scene that started developing within the past 20 minutes or so. we're hearing also from emergency responders that several people are being transported as injured. the extent of their injuries at this point we do not knosn but this happening outside westfield montgomery mall. you heard megan say she saw the area right outside of macy's being taped off. this is right off of 270 at democracy and west lake terrace.

news 4's meagan fitzgerald is at the fairfax county courthouse with more on what the jurors heard todayagan? >> the jurors started out with jurors hearing from fairfax county police officers who were there the night that andrew schmuhl and his wife alecia were arrested. it's the dash cam video that shows the picture of what happened moments after that crime. in court today the jury saw this video and heard from one of the offs alecia schmuhl's car on the beltway. it was just 30 minutes after fairfax county police were called to this mclane home where leo fisher and his wife were found stabbed, tortured and left to die inside. the officer testified that alecia was driving and andrew was in the passenger seat. the officer said, quote, i could see both passenger and driver talking to one another. it looked like they were arguing. i could see the passenger discarding his clothing. minutes later, police say alecia pulled the car over in a parking lot on the 7000 block of commerce street and the couple was arrested. prosecutors asked one of the arresting officers, quote, when you see him at t

meagan fitzgerald has our report. >> reporter: several fairfax county police officers just finished up majority of the day answering questions about the night he says andrew schmuhl forced his way into his mclean home. fairfax county officers described a gruesome scene when they entered leo fisher's home. leo fisher and his wife sue were suffering from multiple stab wounds and were struggling to stay alive. leo fisher told the jury that once inside andrew schmuhl tased him, tied him up, and then tied up his wife. schmuhl never identified himself, but fisher said schmuhl started questioning him about why his wife alicia was recently fired from fisher's law firm. the questioning went on for hours until fisher says, quote, the next thing i know he knocked me over backwards. he puts the pillow on me. he cuts my throat and starts stabbing me. then fisher says his wife starts screaming and that's when he says, kwoequote, schmuhl brough a gun and i saw him shoot her. he remembers his wife covered in blood while they struggled to call 911. fisher told the jury his life has significantly change

meagan fitzgerald is outside the federal courthouse in greenbelt.t sounds as if the judge struggled with this decision. >> reporter: chris, he did. that's after federal prosecutors revealed even more the case after federal agents raided the home of 30-year-old caleb bailey. the judge said he wasn't concerned so much about bailey being a flight risk. what he worried about was the danger to the community. federal prosecutors told the judge that investigators found several unlicensed machine guns inside bailey's home along with explosives and projectiles. the government also said bailey admitted to selling those weapons to friends and family as well as licensed gun dealerships. there was surveillance cameras that were all around his home and in his bathroom that captured minors stepping out of the shower and using the restroom. they argued there was no intent to produce child pornography. the prosecution said there's a lot of information, a lot of evidence, they're still combing through, including several hard through. the courtroom was filled with fri

meagan fitzgerald is live now with more on what authorities found during a raid of his charles county home. >> reporter: we're told 30-year-old caleb bailey was elected as a trump delegate back in april. he was illegally shipping ammunition and explosives. additional charges could soon follow. earl redden was home on may 5th when investigators surrounded his street. >> charles county police were down at the bottom of our driveway. they had about six or eight cars going down the road. >> reporter: he found out atf agents were raiding the home of 30-year-old caleb bailey. bailey was shipping boxes of ammunition and explosives to a licensed gun dealer in wisconsin. >> it was clear to postal inspectors that the material inside was dangerous and that they contacted the atf right away. >> reporter: one of the boxes split open and postal inspectors found 400 rounds of ammunition along with other projectiles. when investigators received a search warrant, they found evidence he was making and had child pornography. sources close to the investigation say investigators also found equipment relat

this happened just meagan fitzgerald joins us live from the scene. what you learned about this so far? >> reporter: the owner of this assisted living facility says she was in her kitchen cooking when all of a sudden the frying pan caught on fire, forcing four disabled or elderly patients and their caretakers out of the home. the fire started just before 12:30. nearly 30 firefighters rushed to the scene and helped four patients to get out. fire officials say crews tore through some of the walls in the kitchen to make sure the fire didn't reignite. mark brady says three of the four disabled residents were taken to the hospital for precautionary measures, but says no one was injured. >> the fire grew in intensity enough to the point that the residential sprinkler system activated. we had to shut off the to the home. >> reporter: the owner of this business says she is working on securing a hotel for her patients so he'she'll be able te there along with the caretakers. coming up at 5:00, we'll tell you what fire investigators say they found when they ente

meagan fitzgerald joins us live now. >> reporter: pat, the owner of this assisted care facility just behind us says the four disabled and elderly patients will go into a hotel with their care provider, but it could be several weeks before they're able to get back into this home here because the business was operating on an expired license. prince george's county firefighters rushed to this before 12:30. fire investigators says the homeowner was cooking when somehow a fire started and got quickly out of control. >> the fire grew in intensity enough to the point that residential sprinkler system activated and extinguished that fire. >> reporter: a couple operate an assisted living facility here. >> we'll take care of it. we've been taking care of people for the past ten years. >> reporter: but according to fire investigators, his business is in violation with the state and the county. >> we checked the permit status of this particular home. they do have a permit on display. however, it expired last month. even after the repairs are done inside the kitchen, it could be several more week

meagan fitzgerald is along the parade route now. what's the scene like there behind you? >> reporter: there are people all along these roads here. as you can see behind me, we are told by organizers there are some 200,000 people who are lining constitution avenue here. people from all over the country and across the world as well wanting to be part of the larges you're looking at veterans from desert storm. they are just one of the groups that are going to be celebrated here and recognized. it is the 25th anniversary since operation desert storm. what made this particular parade even more special is that hundreds of gulf war veterans are reuniting at the parade, making it the largest reunion event since 1991. we want to show you some of the video that we shot earlier this afternoon. military history as far back as the american revolution was represented. marching bands are remembering those who gave the ultimate sacrifice as well. there was a moment of silence held. everyone has a different reason for being out here. some are very personal, but everyone we spoke with say

meagan fitzgerald was there and has this report. >> mr. williams previous threats to seriously injure or kill the child. >> reporter: investigators say on wednesday night zion's father, 28-year-old joshua williams, severely beat his ex-girlfriend, who is also zion's mother. captain jeff pierce says the assault happened inside a car while the toddler was in the backseat. the mother got out and that's when deputies say williams drove off with zion and an amber alert went out. an hour later, the vehicle williams was driving was found on the 400 block of cleveland court where deputies say he used to live. then this morning zion was dropped off at his grandmother's house. his mother arrived moments later. >> we don't know who dropped the child off at the house, but he was returned to her safely unharmed. >> reporter: our cameras were rolling when zion and his mother were met by deputies who less than an hour later after interviewing several people, investigators were able to arrest william s who was hidin in a home a few miles away. >> surveill
