below the 21 million medicare enrollees who are in medicare advantage. that is almost 36 percent of all beneficiaries in 2018. the trustees project that will increase to 29 million in 2027, at the end of 10 years. that is almost 30 percent of beneficiaries. again showing why it is important to refund those -- i will digress for a second. i recommend that everybody take a look at page 254 of the trustee report which is paul's elegant statement of actuary opinion and the second paragraph is very chilling picture about the viability of the current law. it is not quite -- it is politely saying there is fire out there and you better be prepared. getting back to this, look at the footnote, it turns out that we are at 39.2 percent of those beneficiaries who have full medicare, beneficiaries who have both part a and part b, 39 percent are currently enrolled not 36 percent. details matter and i think paul for being clear about this. almost two out of every five people are currently fully insured with medicare advantage. i will stop by saying that we have a paper

and a week ago, the medicare report came out and medicare will be insolvent in 2026. that's about eight years off upside down. and this committee under republican hands is doing work to address mandatory spending and to at least address those issues. medicare/social security is insolvent, upside down in 2034. and so, we would love to work across the aisle on that issue. that's going to require a bipartisan effort. it's going to require trust that we don't just go politically and blow up that issue. in eight years, in 2026, medicare, that will be a real cut, about 20% cut in medicare for the next generation. and so, we need to solve that problem. and so, i applaud. our committee last year worked overtime on that issue. but we didn't meet the teamwork we need on the other side of the aisle to make inroads on that issue, and the senate would not accept any of that work. and so, i applaud the work of this committee trying to get at that. my goal is to get the senate to come on board in a bipartisan fashion and to hear from our own senators that they want to go forward wit
