vanessa ruizvanessa medina is live where she spoke to the emotional hero. >> reporter: he was driving along sunrise boulevard. and it was busy and he saw something fly by his windshield. he pulled over on this service road and that's when he could see the car inside of the canal. we do know, according to the police, that the car coming into this road here, going directly into the canal, and what he found once he jumped inside was a ten-year-old girl and her father. if we could go to the video, the van somehow driving off the inside of the car, a father and his daughter. she was just ten years old and the father quickly began sevenning. the front end, according to the witness, was completely submerged within seconds. the good samaritan pulling up and he didn't know how long the van had been in the water. he called 9-1-1 and jumped in. he didn't know if anyone was alive until he heard a knock, and then he saw the little girl's face, which he said had a look of panic and shear fear. >> her father was, the father was holding her up above the water, and i grabbed it open, and it busted. on
