east bay has been inundated with mud and boulders about mile north from niles canyon road.sot john medlock/alameda county public works 11-15its going to be closed for a whilealameda county public works says they first noticed the problem last week when mud and rocks started falling from about 500 feet up the hill. they shutdown the road thursday between niles canyon and palo verde but monday morning what came down the hill got much worse .sotthere are significant boulders one is the size of a small car about 5 to 6 tonscleaning the road is straightforward safeguarding the hillside is another matter sotwe will pull down the loose stuff and then we may have to lay a steel net on the hillside.the road will remain closed until that's done in the meantime, niles canyon road was open in the afternoon, but it was starting to flood thanks to alameda creek, which looked more like a rushing river local say they've never seen anything like it.sot i have never seen it like this.. children play in this during the sumersot its pretty amazing133/pretty amazing crews in marin county are working to repair
