news 4's megan fitzgerald is live with what metro is going to keep you safe. >> at any given time, there are officers outside metro stations and inside. they say there's thou sands of cameras that earlier this morning, as cameras were rolling and officers were out when a group of teens attacked a man in a metro station. >> there's many things commuters were thinking about when heading to their destination. >> i'm look for a job and going to places and networking. >> safety is top of mind. >> there's a lot of it. dangerous people out there. >> take this morning, for instance. metro police released this surveillance video showing a 35-year-old man getting attacked. investigators say when the victim got off at gallery place, a teen sucker punched him. several other teenagers jumped in before they hopped on the metro and took off. but less than an hour later, at the woodly park station, six suspecteds were taken into custody. then, last month, at the noma station, investigators say this 17-year-old suspected punched a man in the face. metro police made an arrest in this case, too. >> these k

megan fitzgerald, news4. >> thank you. >>> a mystery we've been trying to find answers to all day. the body of a young woman was discovered in chillum, near the rosa parks elementary school. jackie joins us live tonight. >> reporter: chris, they don't know who she is. there was no it, no wallet, no person found on or near the woman's body. investigators from maryland's national capitol park police left the park at night fall. they had secured the trail for most of the day while they looked for possible evidence. the shocki ining discovery was around 7:30 this morning. >> a jogger was in the area, ran past a body and called police. the police responded and did discover the body of a female, appears to be an hispanic female in her 20s on the trail deceased. >> reporter: in addition to being a recreation area, this trail serves as a cut through for people to walk through to the home depot and the mall at prince george's. police say the woman had trauma. they would not say what type of injuries to her upper body. the body may have been here since new year's eve. >> right now, no identi

news4 megan fitzgerald is live in our headquarters. what can we expect? >> the press conference started out with metro saying look, crews have been working around the clock for the last several days to try to get service back up and running. look at what they're saying now. they stay starting tomorrow, bus service will resume on a moderate schedule there will be 160 routes today, compared to today when only 79 routes were running. they said trains will run every eight minutes. the only issue right now is this silver line, we're told a decision will be made as to whether or not the line will reopen tomorrow. before service starts at 5:00 a.m. metro says there will be shuttle service available at the silver line so riders will able to get to their destination one way or another. we had an opportunity to speak with dan stessel. the spokesperson for metro a few minutes ago. here's what he had to say about why the silver line is creating such an issue. >> as we're plowing, this is a photo showing a track that's been plowed, it has been a challenge to get that

. >> let's check in with news 4's meagan fitzgerald joining us live from the national mall. earlier, megan saw folks out there dancing with you. >> we did. we'll show you that in the next 30 minutes or so. the snow is still coming down. at times when it's mixed with the wind, i call it sideways snow, the snow that hits you from all different directions. certainly not pleasant. if you don't have to be out here, you should stay indoors. >> i want to show you video we shot coming from bethesda to the mall. it's sped up. snowplows were out there. these roads are snow packed. at many times we saw mounds of snow even in the middle of the street, several mounds of snow along the side of the streets. it's difficult to maneuver on these roads. as we've been saying, as you've heard public officials say, stay off of the roads if you can. it's not worth being out here and getting into a crash or something worse. stay inside. the snow is pretty to look at. once you're out in it, it's a bit of a different ball game. >> meagan fitzgerald live along the national mall. folks behind her busy shoveling along
