megan mcgrath live at the salt dome. and we've learned montgomery county schools are closed today. everybody anticipating this tricky winter storm. >> yeah you hear all the children going yay! that's what my kids' reaction was. lots of jurisdictions closing. it's kind of an odd situation because all we're seeing now at this point is rain. you can see the trucks are here. they're loading up. this one just fueled up. you look at the back there no salt in the back of the truck yet, but he'll be continuing to load up and gear up this morning. so we are seeing a lot of those trucks already leaving the lot, so they're ready to go just waiting on standby basically for the switch over to happen. and that will be coming up later on this morning. so don't be deceived. yeah, we're just seeing rain right now but that is going to change. we could start to see sleet a little later on this morning. and then the switchover to snow. now, this is one of those tricky storms. the trucks we rely on them so much. the salts, chemicals, brine that they put down to melt the snow when it starts to fall. the

megan mcgrath is live at nih this morning. so this is the second patient to be treated at nih so far for ebola? >> reporter: that's right. n nih has a contagious disease unit one of a handful of units in the country. and they have had some success in the past. this new patient is the second person to be treated for ebola here at nih. the first was nurse nina pham. she contracted the virus at a dallas hospital while treating thomas duncan who fell ill shortly after coming here to the u.s.. now, pham was successfully treated here at nih. she was released last october. and is now ebola-free. as for the new patient, not a lot of information is being released at this point. we don't know their age or gender. we do know the patient is a health care worker who had been volunteering at an ebola treatment unit in sierra leone. of course that's an area that was hard hit by the ebola outbreak. the patient will be flown to our area in isolation on a special aircraft and is expected to arrive at some point today. >> megan, thank you. >>> t

megan mcgrath live where she found one potentially problematic pothole on nebraska avenue northwest. >> reporter: yeah, you almost need to be a stunt driver to avoid some of these potholes. you can take a look behind me here and you can see what we found on nebraska avenue. a pothole right there by the center line. and really they are all over the lays. the freeze and thaw cycle just causes the potholes to literally pop up randomly all around. so what they're trying to do here during potholepalooza is get a handle on all this. they will be throwing a lot of resources out there on the roadways trying to fix all of these holes. basically they will be cutting the response time from 72 hours which is what it typically have to get the report of a pothole and then fill it. during this month, they will be cutting that response time down to 48 hours. but they immediateneed help from the public. so you can report a pothole. you can do that a couple different ways. 311 the mayor's call center or you can use twitter. you can tweet out the location of a pothole at#ddotdc, use #potholepalooza #po

megan mcgrath live with the latest on what we know about the fire. >> reporter: good morning. you mentioned the road closure here on northbound georgia avenue. but just within the last few minutes they have started to take some of the tape down. we still have one strip of tape here across bon in a fant street. but they are starting to remove it. so i don't think it will be a whole lot longer. we'll of course keep an eye on that because that will impact traffic here for people this morning. the fire broke out and significant damage to the bombay gaylord restaurant. the back dining room area essentially was gutted in this. and just a tremendous amount of damage. it will be a while before the restaurant is able to reopen. also some damage lesser damage, to restaurants on either side. now, a little while ago, i spoke to the owner of the bombay gay lord. he says he's owned the restaurant for 17 years. he closed down last night at roughly around 10:15, he turned out the lights. he says everything was fine. in the middle of the night he got a call from a friend about the fire. >> loo
