mitchell joins us now. >> reporter: lester, his name was not spoken but the message from many of the speakers from meghanormer presidents bush and obama was in large part a rejection of the president's kind of politics. by john mccain's design, everything from his choice of speakers to the pallbearers represented his more diverse, less tribal politics and a strong embrace of a free press. the president's seemingly grudging acknowledgment of mccain's passing seemed like a missed opportunity. during today's service, the president was playing golf. >> andrea mitchell, thanks, and while much of the country was focused on senator mccain's farewell, the president was also taking aim on twitter, threatening to leave canada out of a renegotiated north american free trade agreement. after talks hit a roadblock this week. nbc white house correspondent jeff bennett explains how it could impact the price you pay. >> how are things with the canadians? >> reporter: no deal, at least not yet, as the trump administration renegotiates nafta. the catch? canada. >> we will only sign a deal if it is a good deal for canada.
