i am megyn kelly, battling a cold but doing all right. like a hollywood movie, the question of containing this virus has become the top issue in the country. it started after infected patient thomas duncan flew to america from liberia and wound up dying at texas presbyterian hospital in dallas. within a week nurse nina pham, who treated duncan, had fallen ill. on wednesday of this week, the head of the cdc appeared on "the kelly file" and said others exposed to duncan were not exhibiting symptoms. >> those contacts of initial patients every day they've been tracked, none of them have fever. >> that was tuesday. however, when he told us that, a second nurse, amber vinson, had already been hospitalized that day in dallas for ebola. and while dr. frieden says he did not find that out until later that night, it turns out the cdc at least was aware of ms. vinson's fever as she had already told them all about it just before she got on a commercial airplane and flew home from dallas -- or to dallas from cleveland. the next day the cdc said ms. v

i'm megyn kelly. tonight, president obama is at the white house after making the unusual decision to cancel his political plans in order to deal with this growing ebola threat. remember, it was roughly six weeks ago when he first addressed this issue. >> the chances of an ebola outbreak here in the united states are extremely low. >> two weeks later an infected patient got on a plane from liberia, flew to the states and wound up in a texas hospital where now two of the health care workers who treated him are also infected with ebola. one of whom we just learned today flew to cleveland and back after her exposure. and that texas hospital and the cdc are now warning more cases may be coming. tonight, the president sounded a different sounding message. >> if we do these protocols properly, if we follow the steps, if we get the information out, then the likelihood of widespread ebola outbreaks in this country are very, very low. >> what happened to the chances of an ebola outbreak are extremely low? now i

i'm megyn kelly. a majority of americans believes the air strikes we're conducting in iraq and syria will not be enough. 78% say they do support our current air campaign. but some 57% also say ground troops will be needed to win. and 52% of the american public now favors sending in ground troops, something the president has said repeatedly he will not do if the air strikes fail to get the job done. moments ago i spoke with charles krauthammer, a syndicated columnist, fox news contributor and author of the best-selling book "things that matter" which has now sold more than a million copies. charles, that's the question. just to go through it, you've got 55% of the american people saying he has not been aggressive enough. 64% saying we have no strategy. and now the biggest number, 52%, the most critical saying they now favor ground troops in this conflict. so are ground troops coming? >> no, i don't think so. i would trust every other one of those numbers in the polls. i think americans are exactly righ

i'm megyn kelly. just a few hours ago we got reports that today alone at least 30 people were killed in iraq's capital city of baghdad. just the latest bloodshed from a group that came close to capturing the baghdad airport on friday. joint chiefs charmt general martin dempsey said our only option was to call in apache attack helicopters to prevent them from taking things over completely. that's not good. also, despite the president's promise to degrade and destroy this group over the weekend isis claimed control of a critical military base. despite a series of coalition air strikes there just hours before. the leaders of anbar province, that whole region just west of iraq's capital were today warning there were some 10,000 isis fighters now in their neck of the woods. they're begging for ground support. isis has 80% of anbar province, which we fought so hard to secure. but when national security advisor susan rice just yesterday was asked about how this terror army is continuing to make such signific
