melanie alnwick is live with the latest. >> reporter: good morning. this is still a scene here although a lot of the additional equipment has been rolled up. but firefighters are going to be here on the scene they say at least until day break. so here is what we know happened. we also have some pictures from last night to show you as well. firefighters got a call around 10:30 last night about a fire here in one of these warehouses on moore street. this is a very busy packed area with warehouses that are full of goods and also foods and lots of businesses that are very close together. so when firefighters arrived, there was flame and smoke on the first floor. about 50 of them were inside when the situation got too dangerous and they had to call for an evacuation. the fire chief telling me that it was very hairy situation for about 10, 15 minutes there while they had to pull firefighters out. any time they have to pull firefighters out of an active scene like that, he said means it is very high risk. part of reason for that is because it is a warehouse.
