welcome, supervisor melgar. supervisor melgar, did you want to jump in? >> supervisor melgar: thank you so much, chair haney. yes, i actually have questions specifically about the office of early education. as we all know, the babies and families fund was established after the voters of san francisco passed it in 2018. to help to realize a robust early care and education system for all families. it is a very challenging and many of us who are parents know that the waiting list for childcare are very long in san francisco many people can't even get in, if they can afford it. those who cannot pay are even more at a disadvantage. but top priorities was to raise the wages of early care educators who are mostly women of color. it's clear that the childcare waiting lists and to provide slots for low and moderate income families. eventually we will be able to realize the funds for wraparound services for families, but i am just -- like, we need to build out the system first. i want us to be that city that has universal childcare for all families who need it. and

i see supervisor catherine stefani and supervisor myrna melgar, as well. we have many folks that are part of the fabric of san francisco, and the reason why we're here with so many amazing women is because we know that since this pandemic began, women have really had a serious challenge. it's not bad enough that women in fact make about 80% to the dollar that men make, and african women more in the 60%, and latino women more about 50% on the dollar. it's not bad enough that we're not paid as much, but because there were challenges with child care, challenges to school, access to transitions and new and rewarding opportunities in the work industry, women have suffered really during this pandemic, and so it is so important to me that when looking at our economic recovery as san francisco began to reopen, that we can look at ways of supporting and invest in san francisco. now today, we have some really big announcements. now it's been hard, but two thirds of san franciscans have been vaccinated. as we begin to reopen, we want to keep people safe, and we are h

limited equity cost is something that is important to me and also important to supervisor melgar who has hada hearing on the topic . how much is budgeted for limited equity cost in the coming year if any and how does that compare to the current budget? >> you mean for development? you have a contract and i'm not sure if it's been renewed around enterprise and support as needed. i know a number of the limited equity co-ops don't have any money so it's a relationship that i have monitored by asset management but i don't believe that there is ... before i answer that question, do you mean development or maintenance or support for existing? can i get a clarification? >> is there a track for certain amount for technical support and assistance for limited equity cost or is thissolely in with the other and not tracked separately ? >> i believe we have an answer for that one. >> i don't know off the top of my head as director shaw mentioned we do have contracts for technical assistance with enterprise. and they are, it is specifically intended to provide exactly what you're asking about. >>

>> i'm just monitoring on behalf of supervisor melgar. thank you. >> thank you. okay. commissioner, jupiter jones, please. >> hi, everyone. i will be brief because my counter says we've been here for six hours. first, i just want to say how really humbled and honored i am to be a part of this team of just really caring and thoughtful and intelligent folks who love this city so much. so to all my fellow directors and commissioners, the staff, the community who called in and took the time, it just -- it warms the san francisco girl's heart to be apart of this. but there's a lot that's been said that i echo. so i guess i think i'll just add is i'm definitely in support of the pilot to keep the great highway car-free to have it be the great walkway. i wouldn't be serving on the rec and park commission if i didn't firmly believe in open spaces and areas for recreation. but one thing i would like to see moving forward is that we pull back the lens on this and that we really look at this as a city and how it impacts the city and take it just out of the sunset and the richmond
