good afternoon, chair melgar and supervisors. the prehistoric commission reviewed the designations of these mural on september 13, 2023. the chata mural was painted in 2015, by cookie go sa lez, the 20 by 22 foot mural located on the side west of residential building is a tribute to a culture icon as a culture asset to celebrate the latin music movement and significant vibrant part of san francisco cultural heritage. the carnival mural is among the largest and most prominent murals. it was painted in 11993 with assistance from other artist. the 75-by 24 foot mural located at a resident mrats depicts latino businesses. carnival mural sl a culture asset that celebrates latin culture and music in the district and significant and vibrant part of san francisco's cultural heritage. heard public comment in support of designation and voted unanimously recommending designation of these two mural that have high artistic value and are representative of the community arts movement. the commission found that the carnival mural and chata meet
