. >> i'm with san jose state university political science chair melinda jackson.hank you very much for coming in tonight. it will be interesting to say the least. the vast majority of polls predicted a clinton victory and now while it is not over, donald trump is very close to being on the verge of a huge upset. if that happens, what would you say as to how he pulled it off. they have been breaking in trump's direction. this could be due to a number of factors. we could have under eimated voter turn out on the republican side. every poll before election day is just a snapshot in time. the one poll that matter matters is the poll we are seeing today. >> what message are the voters sending with this vote about what they feel about the state of the country or is this protest vote or what is it? >> we are seeing based on the results that there is a lot more anger out there in the country than we even expected. you knew it was there. this does seem to be sending a message that voters seem to not like the direction the country is going and are voting for change. >> you
