melissa, you heard mia talking about the body cam footage. that's the major sticking point, what everybody is depending on. walk us through what needs to happen in order to see this body cam footage? >> i think one of the things that's unusual here and different from other situations where we've seen the release of video footage more quickly in the course of the investigation is that there's actually a north carolina law that says that the body cam footage or any video footage can't be released unless given judicial approval. the judge in the hearing last week said he would not release this video footage until the end of the month or the conclusion of the investigation. according to the prosecution, that's not unusual in north carolina, but again it does stand in stark contrast to other situations we've seen around the country where the video footage has been forthcoming more quickly. so that is part of the discussion here. there seems to have been more transparency in other cases and perhaps it looks like less transparency and maybe somethin

this afternoon our own melissa colorado came across this woman. a 68-year-old who was mugged while she was shopping in oakland's chinatown. >> reporter: one minute i was looking for parking. the next minute i stumbled upon a scene that's become all too familiar in oakland's chinatown. out of the corner of my eye, i saw an asian woman down on the ground surrounded by a crowd of foot patrol volunteers. >> all of a somebody grab my body and drag me here. >> reporter: who was it? what did he look like? >> i didn't see it. he grabbed me in the back. grabbed me and tried to get my purse and he took it. >> reporter: a stunned woman says her attacker snatche hard body slammed her on to this busy intersection along 8th street in oakland's chinatown. >> i hit my head back. pavemen? >> there is no police. no place came. >> reporter: she is from the philippines. her purse had close to $300 in cash and her treasured jade bracelet. this woman screamed when she saw her getting mugged and memorized. >> reporter: how old are you? >> 68. going to be 68 this year. >

melissa, when it comes to banning abortions, republicans now have a 6-3 conservative majority in the supreme court. how is the new makeup of the court a game changer for pushing this agenda? >> it's absolutely consequential, alicia. we saw with the did he have the ruth bader ginsburg, the court we understand from a 5-4 conservative majority to a 6-3 super majority. all you need to know in thinking about what that means going forward is to think about last term where he saw june medical services, another abortion challenge, this time to admitting privileges law from louisiana where we saw the chief justice peel off and join the liberal wing of the court to strike down that law on the ground that similar law had been struck down just four years earlier. now the chief justice is no longer in that swing justice position. he cannot make a majority because there are only three liberals on the court, and the conservatives do not need him to form a majority because they already have five. so you have four votes, i think, if you're counting to overrule roe entirely and all you need is one mor
