let's bring in now melissa bell, who's standing by for us in paris.elissa, we've seen both candidates now cast their votes. several hours now into voting overall throughout the country. do we have any indication yet as to how the turnout's been? >> reporter: the key figure we'll have in about an hour, the midday figure of turnout, and that is going to be a really crucial thing to watch, hannah, over the course of the day. those figures come out at midday in france and ending at 5:00 p.m. it will be interesting to compare it with 2012. certainly, here in this polling station in the 18th district of paris, you can see voting is brisk. there is a long queue to make their way to the ballot box over there in which they put an envelope in which they put either marine le pen's name or emmanuel macron's. that line, that queue goes all the way outside. so, people very keen to come and cast their votes. and the voters we've spoken to this morning have all said that they have a sense of the importance of this moment, not just because presidential elections are a
