for more on the president is impending decision, let's bring in melissa quinn, reporter at the washington examiner. thanks for being here tonight. anthony kennedy was confirmed in 1987 on a vote of 97-0. unanimous, basically, within the united states senate. is anything like that going to happen this time around? >> i think it's very unlikely. it's like was mentioned earlier. you're seeing a number of senate democrats pledge to come out and oppose whoever president trump's nominee is. what's more telling is there could also be some republican senators, namely susan collins, also oppose the president's nominee. that depends on where they stand on the issue of roe v wade. there is a bright light for the white house. there were three senate democrats who are all up for re-election this fall who did support justice neil gorsuch last year when he was confirmed by the full senate. so even though whoever the president's nominee is may not be confirmed unanimously, we could see some crossover and support from democrats. jon: john roberts was confirmed on a 78-22 vote. some of the other sitting ju
