i think it's already gone through mendocino county. it's in lake napa county.on't be much, but a 10th of an inch might cover it for some. but i know casadero russian river has had some, healdsburg has had some rain, but this is a weak system here. but and this may be the last of the month, really, unless something really changes, everything is pointing towards a drier stretch here until early march. but if it goes, any of this rain makes it south of about the golden gate, it won't be much at all. maybe a trace or 0.01. 40. 50. the mountains. forget it. there's not much there. maybe a dusting of snow. 39 truckee, 40 south lake tahoe. reno at 41. there is a back edge to this system, so morning clouds will give way to afternoon sun. the breeze will pick up. but again, most of this is focused to the north. very little, if any, to the south. i'd be surprised if they got that much. the focus though, continues to be to the north. we will have warmer temps and dry conditions, but crescent city north is going to be big time rain event here over the next week. so a cloud

mendocino county, lake county, i think you're in a better situation, but a lot of cloud cover. it will be cooler. just the warm overrunning came through and really, there's just not much to write home about unless you're north. but we'll hang on to this for a little bit longer here. should be around 9 or 10 in the morning. this way we think we'll start to move through, kind of wash out. i doubt anything happens south no. for san francisco, the most rain on this date was an inch and two thirds back in 1980. record high 75 1991 and 38 way back in 1897. the record low 6050 today, which is pretty close to the average 40s on most of the temps, a couple of 50s but mainly 40 system will fall apart and give us a lot of cloud cover, cooler temps, and then after this, unless you're up near the oregon border, there won't be much going on here, that's for sure. and it looks pretty quiet as we go into the end of the week and also into the weekend. cloudy this morning, a lot of cloud cover, maybe some light rain, but i think we get some afternoon sun and highs 5060 on the temps. >> thank you

will see this system trying to make its move in saturday and sunday, but mainly for areas in mendocino county. what will that look like for us? here it is. the timing is at about 130 notice. we get some straggling clouds kind of rolling through here, some areas of patchy fog for san francisco and then for mendocino county early early sunday morning. there is a slight chance of seeing some very light activity. aside from that there. the majority of that will be cloud cover. saturday we've got upper 60s and 70s on the map. i do think the warmest temperatures will be for areas in the south bay, stretching all the way down through gilroy, with those mid 70s lingering into sunday as well, and san francisco a comfortable 64, oakland 66 and in through concord nearing that 70. mid 70 mark. as we enter into the long range outlook, here's what you can expect. we do have warmer today through the weekend, but just to give you a look into the week ahead, that includes monday, tuesday and of course the next stretch. we've got 60 on the map right now. wednesday does appear as of next week to be possibly one

notice how these rain chances are mostly bottled up north of san francisco, up towards mendocino county county almost nonstop, which is the reason why the rain totals from north to south. you're going to see that big gradient from another 2 to 4in of rain on the coastal mountains and inland mountains there, up towards lake county and sonoma county, and nearly nothing again down towards san jose. so the rain chances will have tomorrow. taking a mostly san francisco northward focus, we'll see highs in the same range we had today, mostly upper 50s around the north bay and low to mid 60s from san jose southward. now notice how that atmospheric river gets on the move as we get into monday and tuesday, the frontal boundary itself will start to move through for areas south of san francisco. that's likely to be the heaviest rain of the week on into tuesday. then the colder air starts to arrive as more storms come marching in from thursday into friday. look at these sierra snow totals now as the snow levels drop. that's a big change. several feet of snow likely to be on the way as that colder ai

showers staying up to the north coast there by mendocino county ahead of the wednesday storm system.ow on the way. so look at the estimates of that wednesday storm. now, one big change here is that the entire bay area should get something out of that, and maybe up to a third of an inch to a half inch of rain for the north bay, and generally less than a quarter inch south of san francisco. then once we get past wednesday, high pressure starts to build in. so the storm track is going to lift on up to the north, and we could be looking at 60 and 70 by next weekend. so a little bit of light rain to wrap up this weekend before things dry out monday into tuesday. then the pattern of another midweek storm is there. just not with flood watches like we saw this week. about a quarter inch to a half inch of rain with that, and then spring weather could be around the corner. if that forecast holds 60 and 70 possible inland for next weekend. i think a lot of people will be happy to hear that that next storm coming in is not as strong. yeah. rob, thanks. let's go to anthony florez at chase center

so if i advances to sunday, you'll notice this system is going to try to creep into mendocino county. there is a chanc for some light shower activity really far north. we're talking up through parts of sonoma. likely it will be quick, but that high pressure is going to help keep any chance of real rain out of the area, keeping us dry and keeping us warm at least through the middle of next week. i advances to about february 26th, and that ridge of high pressure remains in place now as far as rain chances. again, very slight rain chances on sunday to the north. but i did want to give you a look at the drought monitor update, because this gets updated every two weeks on thursdays. and if you notice the state of california, for the most part, the areas that are seeing more drying are located more towards southern california. so that includes la. and compared to about two weeks ago, we did see an increase in the severe drought monitor category and also the extreme drought monitor category. and it makes sense because really, southern california has been lacking in the rainfall department. w

with some light rain being picked up on storm ranger in parts of northern sonoma as well as mendocino countiesht now. and then as you go up in elevation, there is some more light snow, so it is still cold out there for those higher elevations, and we'll see the rain coming back for the north bay at about 7:00 this evening. as we go through the timeline, we see the rain becoming more widespread overnight very quickly. and we'll also have some gusty winds. but the yellows and the oranges indicate some heavier rainfall that will continue through early tomorrow. but notice that there will be some breaks too. so going into tomorrow, late morning, there may be a bit of a lull in the activity, and then we see it picking up again for tomorrow evening and continuing into early friday. that may be the last push of all of this rain, because we are expecting it to clear out by friday night. so if you've got some friday evening plans, weekend plans, it looks good. we just have to deal with all of this rain over a short period of time, and it may add up to over two inches in parts of the north bay, possibly

patchy fog to set up for tomorrow morning's commute, so watch out for that to our friends up in mendocino county showers may be ongoing for you into monday. you can see how the showers, for the most part, stay off to the north with partly cloudy skies as we move forward into monday afternoon. so morning temperatures starting off in the 40s watching for those patchy areas of fog. then, as we head through the afternoon temperatures tomorrow upper 50s and again some low 60s south around san jose, heading down towards san martin and gilroy. upper 50s again around san francisco and oakland. so the midweek weather system will have more moisture and also be a stronger weather system at that. and you can see the impact right there tuesday night and into wednesday as we give you the timeline here. wednesday morning, rain into the north bay by around mid morning. rain all over the place, including san jose. unlike today where the rain chances are really scattered, everybody should get at least a little rain out of the system, with the north bay picking up about a half inch of rain during the day on wednes

if we do see any sort of rain move in, it will be likely more towards mendocino county further north as well. we're talking portland and seattle for the rest of us, though. not going to get in any of that rain. we're going to stay dry and we're going to stay warm into the start of next week. so how are we looking for the rest of february? well, take a look at this outlook. now keep in mind this outlook is not a forecast. it's a probability. but if you notice a large portion of the west coast in the united states is showing well above average temperatures. so we're talking 10 to 15 degrees above average and a lot of spots. here's a look at your 7-day forecast. it looks beautiful for saturday and sunday. and inland areas are going to notice the most warmth. right now. it does look like our stretch will continue for the next 7 to 10 days. that will give you plenty of time to take advantage of this great weather. this looks great. yes, we've we've earned this sunshine here. that's a good way of putting it. thanks. well, up next, a south bay lawmaker trying to ban anti-aging skincare prod

that's going to keep us dry for the most part, with the exception of a slight rain chance from mendocino county. county really far north. sunday morning again, this will be quick moving, very scattered, very light. the majority of that rain will be off to portland and seattle. and then we're going to settle into that warmer pattern into saturday and sunday. but if you're wondering okay, so we're not going to see rain in quite some time, as i mentioned. how are our reservoirs doing? well, let's take a look now. right now, the four largest reservoirs in the state of california are at about 81% of capacity. so if you look, lake oroville is at 84, lake shasta 78, and in through folsom is at about 70%. now we are looking decent when it comes to those state reservoir levels. same with our 96% of statewide average. so the recent storms certainly helped those numbers and helped bring a nice boost over the next seven days. we're only going to get warmer. so into saturday and sunday notice in san francisco we've got 67 on the map. and then that dry stretch leads us into next monday, tuesday and yes, also

we do have a slight rain chance for far mendocino county right now. the majority of that rain is pushing a lot further north towards seattle and oregon, and also in through parts of the interior around the kind of tahoe up mountain stretch. but for the most part, your weekend high temperatures will include plenty of sunshine. look at saturday, we've got comfortable upper 60s even around the bay and coast. 68 for oakland, 71. in concord. the warmer spots will be in through the south bay. 73 for san jose los gatos 73 morgan hill. i've got you at 73 as well, and your sunday will be fantastic as well. temperature wise will be in the mid 70 for san martin. so sunday we'll see some areas that will get a gradual warm up san francisco and up through parts of the north bay. notice a bit more cooling for the north bay. the reason for that is because of that system that it's trying to make its approach. that means if you're heading out to enjoy the beautiful weather, if you're going to be in napa saturday, you'll get a bit more sunshine with a high of about 68 s

and up around lake and mendocino counties, they're looking at a rain snow mix with really low snow levelsre's a look at the storm impact scale. it's a moderate strength storm, a level two rain with brief downpours, gusty winds, thunder chance and flooding is certainly possible, but the kind of flooding we're expecting is minor roadway flooding and streams and creeks as we go into tomorrow morning. 8:00 widespread rain heading into 10 a.m. you're still seeing that. and then it switches over to more scattered activity at 3:00. but you are going to see some brief pockets of moderate to heavy rain even into the evening commute at 5:00. scattered lighter showers late tomorrow night into friday morning. and then friday afternoon. one last push before the system gets on out of here. in terms of rainfall totals, we are expecting anywhere from a third of an inch to just over an inch for most areas. there will be some spots that may get just a quarter of an inch, so keep that in mind. winds will be coming up out of the south 46 miles an hour. half moon bay, 11 a.m, point reyes 38. it gets gusty, st

so mendocino county north, we're getting some pretty good shower activity for your wednesday. well, in the area, nothing more than a few light sprinkles right at the southern end of any sort of potential rainfall from this. and this year itself, not really getting a lot of snowfall either. the forecast after that clearl out really nicely. so how much will for us? well, for spots like santa rosa could see around a 10th of an inch of rain. eureka, closer to an inch of it. well, up in the sierra, only 3 inches of snowfall stack that up with the feet of snowfall. you saw last week and we're definitely seeing a much lighter impact from this system, not holding anyone out from getting outside 50's to 60's in the city as well as at the coastline today. most of the bay area is going to be well into the 60's making today. noticeably warmer than yesterday was and definitely a comfortable pairing of mid 60's. sunshine and calm winds in the south bay as well as across a lot of the east bay dublin at 66, same in walnut creek and danville. well, oakland at 62 for your high today, fully how
