the menlo park city council is considering a 10 to 15% increase.votes whether to hold a public hearing early next year. redwood city looking at an 18% increase and has already scheduled a public hearing for january 10th. the san jose mercury news reports all 12 cities under the waste management authority will likely increase fees as they switch to a new hauler and pay the $11 million still owed to outgoing hauler allied waste. thanksgiving is less than two weeks away and as many of us plan our holiday menus others simply can't afford a turkey dinner with all the trimmings and neither can the food pantries that serve the needy. heather reports on the struggle. >> san francisco's haight street baptist fruit pantry is a life line for 400 families or about 1100 people a week. >> mainly lower income families and then we have probably about 75 to 80% who are homeless. >> pastor robert johnson runs the food pantry. he volunteered here for three years before being offered that job and before that he was a homeless client himself. he says centers like this
