abc 7 news reporter matt keller is live in menlo park for us this morning. hi, matt. >> good morning, jessica and reggie. facebook went from a big thumb's up from investors to a big thumb's down overnight. the stock taking a huge hit after its earnings report was released yesterday. how big was it? it was a bad night for them. the stock down 24% at one point in afterhours trading shedding about $144 billion in value. right now it's down about 19%, 20%. that also means ceo mark zuckerberg took a big personal hit losing $16.8 billion in stock value. that's about a fifth of his net worth. facebook's user base and revenue grew more slowly than expected in the second quarter as the menlo park based company dealt with privacy issues and expects revenue growth to slow down in the next couple quarters. this is the first full quarter following the cambridge analytica privacy scandal. they believe the shortfall had to do with european privacy rules that went into effect in may. the company still earned $5.1 billion in profit, that's up 31% from the year before. facebo

the synergy badminton academy in menlo park responded yesterday saying " malay-thong, is no longer employed with the organization." the statement also said that "synergy will not tolerate behavior that jeopardizes the well-being of people enrolled in badminton training at the academy." in the east bay... the west oakland community is coming together this morning to help clean up the neighborhood. oakland mayor libby schaff will be pitching in as well . kron 4s ali ried is there... and has the details. this park has been through a lot over the years. and today, the mayor along with other volunteers will be doing a summer cleanup, to get it spic and span.this piece of land was once run down, and contaminated with high concentrations of lead in the soil in early 2000's.the city had to do a deep cleaning .... until the soil was deemed safe. it was revitalized and turned into willow park.over time it fell into disrepair and became unusable.after a million dollar redevelopment project, it reopened in 2007.with a basketball court, picnic area, plaza, jogging path, and a seating area showcasing art
